Don't get me wrong, the Auburn vs. Alabama game is one of the, if not the biggest rival in the game, but could you imagine a UA vs. ND game. Man that would be sweet. I mean Auburn is just Auburn, nothing special with them and their 1/2 of a national title. But 12 national titles vs. 11. I would give my left leg for that rival to spark up (well it happens to be the one with a hurt knee hehe)
College Football WOOT!

I like where your going with that walker...the KAC!
Yeah, Vandy probably does say that each week. Aw well, it could be worse I guess. At least they can lay claim to being in a good conference like the SEC. They could be the exact same Vandy team and be in the C-USA! Of course, if they were, they might win a few more games.
"This week on Purdue TV, the Boilermakers lose a close one to the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame! Must See TV!"
Collegeboy, hell yeah! I'd bring the beer for that one! They'd spend each week leading up to the game doing specials about previous title years and teams, the traditions, Hesiman Trophy winners, the winning seasons and bowl appearances. They'd do side stories on where athletes from these institutions have gone on to play, and the indelible mark left on the landscape of Americana. With all that, they'd have pre-game week material for about 740 years!

Yeah they have an Alabama vs Notre Dame game either next year or the the year after, and then they have one again. Of course we all know the Crimson Tide will beat them terribly.

They need to make that happen...that would be an entertaining game, and would certainly have lots of tradition.
Let's see, in doing some research here I found these stats for a head to head matchup:
Notre Dame has only faced Alabama twice in bowl games, winning both contests. The first was the 1973(74) Sugar Bowl in which they won 24-23, and the second being the 1974(75) Orange Bowl in which the Fighting Irish posted a 13-11 victory. As you can see, three points deciding two major bowl wins would make for some good drama. Both teams coming into the '74 Sugar Bowl were undefeated, with Bama being ranked #1 and ND #3. In '75, Bama again came into the game ranked #1 and undefeated, while the scrapy Irish were 9-2 and ranked #8 to pull the upset.
The Fighting Irish have only faced Alabama four times in the regular seasons, but they own a 3-1 record out of those four meetings.
1976 Win 28-18
1980 Win 7-0
1986 Loss 10-28
1987 Win 37-6
Notre Dame has also gone a collective 18-11 versus opponents that now make up the SEC conference. So, we'd fit right in!

"That's why in 2000 Notre Dame went to the Fiesta Bowl (with a freshman QB), in 2002 they rolled up to 8-0, beating Michigan, Florida State, Purdue and anybody else that got in their way. That must also be why they were #3 in the BCS ratings during that span too huh? "
You sad devotion to has been team is hilarious. But all true fans of any team are, and I count myself amoung the true fans. Notre Dame was exposed last year. Notre Dame was a fraud, and ended the season last year they way they should have. The loss agaist Michigan State was karma.
I have never understood why anyone could be a fan of such an average program, let alone so many across the nation. Notre Dame has a brilliant history, but a storied past doesn't win ball games. 7 hiesmans don't help an inept quaterback and a defense with no run stopping ability (the fact that Oregon, the king of the super offense high scoring shoot-out style of play, has a better run defense than Notre Dame is highly amusing).
Why can Notre Dame line up the television deals? Because some idiot will watch them, no matter how bad they are.
The only thing the SEC gets from me is a LOL! Better luck next year.

I don't know Rooster how can fans be faithful to an average program, you seem to be the perfect one to ask.
Typical Big Ten arrogance, but laughable they can never back up, what is OSU record against Bama.Comment

Your not honestly be referring to OSU?
The UA vs. AU was a good game. I will not go into my disappointment with the refs. There is no way we should have allowed them to score 24 unanswered points.Comment
