Another beautiful day for college football. My unbridled hate of the Irish served me a wounderful lunch that had a heaping helping of Notre Dame embarrasment. The fact that USC was beaten and Alabama lost were icing on a delicious cake.

Notre Dame was exposed for the sham they are. 0-3 against an "inferior" conference don't say much for their program. How the mighty have fallen, on their faces.

"So is 3 points a whooping in Arkansas. Tell your number 71 the next time he taunts the students to come after him, we will."

If the students are as inept as the team, he's got nothing to worry about. He just has to go for the full sixty minutes.

        Inept, funny.

Funny how it is always the fans of the wana be dynasties that always talks the loudest.

        Great job beating Northwestern

How hard is it to even cover the spread against Northwestern.

Whats funny to me is making fun of a team with the longest 1-A winning streak, while at the same time backing a below .500 team like like they were actually good this year.

CB-I, unlike you am an extream College football fan, every Saturday in the fall is a holiday, if Im not at a game Im watching one, I like to believe I know a little about the teams enough to say you make some of the most idiotic post imanginable. Every single time you slander OSU for winning by not enough points to make you happy, makes me want to smack you upside the head, did you watch any football last year? They are not the team to blow the opposition out, they're the type that walks off the field the winning team

I have never understood why anyone could be a fan of such an average program, let alone so many across the nation. Notre Dame has a brilliant history, but a storied past doesn't win ball games. 7 hiesmans don't help an inept quaterback and a defense with no run stopping ability (the fact that Oregon, the king of the super offense high scoring shoot-out style of play, has a better run defense than Notre Dame is highly amusing).
Hmmm...let's see Rooster. So you say Notre Dame is a fraud huh? Well that's kind of funny since Notre Dame last year won with heart and determination...and even with some talent. They didn't blow people out but they left the field winners. Gee...that sounds just like the way you and the rest of these hapless Buckeye fans describe your team! "We win with heart, it doesn't matter by how many points..." and the like. The difference is, I've never claimed my team was the best in the land or the national champion...but you have. So, I guess that makes your team a fraud then too. Sure, the Irish dropped games in the end of their schedule last year, but for those eight games in a row and the two games they won after the streak, they were as much a "fraud" as your Buckeyes are now.

My advice to you is, if the only thing coming out of your mouth is a verbal form of sports ignorance, by all means say nothing please. Leave the friendly sports arguments to us grown ups over here.

"Why would anybody root for such an average program?"
Your kidding right? Ohio State hadn't won a national championship in decades before last year. If that doesn't make them "average" with as good a team as you say they are then I don't know what does. Over thirty years without a title? Not too good in C-Bus.

My Irish are playing a system with offensive players who are either freshman or players recruited for a completely different offense. They aren't real good right now, and that's not even me making an excuse. But they will get better. A return to the top ranks is inevitable for Notre Dame because we have the resources, pride, and coaches to pull it off. However, Ohio State's run at the top is about over and once again your team will sift back into the depths of just another good team amongst other good teams. Laugh it up now Roosterboy, but your team's time is coming and when it does it's not going to be very pretty.

So you saying OSU doesnt have the resources, pride, and coaches to pull it off? I have nothing against Notre Dame but dont knock the bucks for reasons that arent there. In 2 years Tressle has turned the program completely around.

Well Wicked, the above is a sarcasm laced retort to a long going argument Rooster and I have. It started out with his proclamation of Big Ten supremecy and has now somehow evolved into his soapbox moment for his sudden hatred of Notre Dame (thanks in no small part to me and my allegiances I'm sure). In the beginning I was making a comment about Ohio State being a good team, but not necissarily in the same league as, say, Nebraska's back-to-back national champions or the FSU teams of the nineties. He (and others) would have you believe OSU is the next great dynasty set to lay waste to the entire college football world and that's that. The only problem with this skewed notion is, it's not going to happen. Ohio State is a great team loaded with talent. I have no problem with stating that and have time and again. However they will not be the national champion this year, thereby showing they aren't as much a "dynasty" as a "champion for one year".

While I have made the concession the Buckeyes are a great football team with scores of talent, Rooster likes to degrade and belittle my Irish football team I guess because he thinks it makes him look cool...I don't know. I have yet to reply in this thread with anything close to "Notre Dame is the best in the nation" or "Notre Dame is going undefeated, and becoming national champion this year". I simply point out some facts relating to specific discussions and present some of the tradition of Notre Dame. Rooster likes to sling mud. Eh, to each his own I guess. Actually, his tireless rhetoric is getting rather annoying anyway so it's probably best to just ignore him altogether.

Hey Collegeboy, saw this on espn.com:

                    Associated Press
PINSON, Ala. -- A Pinson man was charged with attempted murder for holding a gun to his son's head and pulling the trigger in the midst of a tantrum after Alabama's double overtime loss to Arkansas Saturday.

The bullet narrowly missed 20-year-old Seth Logan, who said he picked the wrong time to ask his dad for a car, sheriff's spokesman Deputy Randy Christian said Monday.

Joseph Alan Logan, 46, surrendered to police Saturday and was charged with attempted murder and domestic violence. He was released from the Jefferson County jail Sunday on $7,500 bond.

"I know we take football serious in the South," Christian told The Birmingham News for a Tuesday story, "but that's crossing the line."

The request upset Joseph Logan because his son has already wrecked several vehicles, Logan told investigators.

"He claimed he was just trying to scare his son," Christian said.

According to the police report, Joseph Logan had been drinking alcohol and began slamming doors, tossing boxes and throwing dishes in the sink after the Crimson Tide lost its football game to Arkansas, 34-31 in double overtime Saturday.

While Joseph Logan was throwing the tantrum, Seth Logan asked for a new car.

Joseph Logan then retrieved a 9 mm pistol from his car, grabbed his son by the collar and pressed the gun to his son's forehead, the report said.

Logan threatened to shoot his son in the head, then pulled the trigger.

Seth Logan moved his head just as his father fired and the bullet whizzed past him, the report said.

Seth Logan fled to a neighbor's house to call police. He told police his ear was numb and his head ringing, but he was OK.

Sheriff's authorities called the SWAT team after discovering the armed father still had a 13-year-old son in the house with him.

Joseph Alan Logan walked out of the house with the other son and turned himself in to police just before the SWAT team arrived, Christian said.

                    Damn!

I just hate the Irish and their fans. Always have, always will. Unless they are 1-10 and playing Miami, FSU, Florida, Tennesse, or Oklahoma. Then I'm their biggest fan.

Fine by me...I don't care if you like us Irish fans or not. I feel lucky at least I'm not a Buckeye fan, so I guess we're even then.

Anyway, on to bigger and better things, how many of you watched the Miami/WV game last night? That was a great game...although I think West Virginia should have won it though. They played their hearts out. But, you gotta give it to the Hurricanes...champions find a way to win and they did just that. That catch by Kellen Winslow II was pretty sweet. I think that's the play of the year for them. Next week's matchup of them and FSU should be very interesting.

My Irish are off this weekend, so I'll have to seek my entertainment elsewhere.

I had a hard time going to bed last night. My canes pulled it out! WV had a great game, but UM always seems to play down to their competition. Also, I don't think I like that Brock Berlin. Way too many mistakes. The best quarterbacks at UM didn't make mistakes, and let the talent around them win it for them.

PS. My hate list in order.

Chickens? Stop playing you? What? You realize Notre Dame is 15-7-1 all time against your Hurricanes right? Sure, right now Miami has a whole lot more talent than the Irish (Miami has more talent than 95% of the country), but I'm sure my Fighting Irish would still scrap with them. If we could get the offense on track, and have the motivation on defense we had last year it'd be on...it'd make for a good game. Especially because we could rely on Brock Berlin throwin' at least one pick...
