    Interesting Major.

Unfortunatlly the only Paintball shop in this area is Battle Creek. They have alot of stuff there and can order in anything you want. The owner Rick is a certified paintball tech and can fix almost anything, his speciality is cockers. Usually if I am around he will hand anyone who comes in with a mag over to me to help. I have seen things done to a mag that would just make you cry. But usually with a couple of parts and alot of scolding for messing with the trigger rod or not oiling the marker and they are fixed. lol.

Wow.. this is the first time I've seen an arguement turn into a polite conversation.

Battle Creek sounds like a great place to play. If i'm even in Montana, i'll make sure to plan a stop

I play @ Splat-Attack in Washington, and it's pretty good. No real Tech's @ the field to do repairs tho. Last time I needed a 'cocker ball detent and I ended up borrowing one off my friend's Impulse (2 detents). *Shrug*

Hi guys to drag this thread back on topic I've got
two ticket experiences to tell you about

1:urban street 50 km(30mph) limit. houses on one side
park with soccer fields, ball diamond etc. on the other
              side.
I was clocked at 60 but the office wrote it down to
              55. (10 over is points off your license) I thanked the
              officer.

2:rural road 90kph(55mph) sunny day no traffic oncoming
or behind. Road is slightly twisty . I'm going about 105kph(65mph)
I meet police car , police car does spectacular power
turn and catches up with me not very far from were we
first met.(yes he was going VERY fast)
Asks ME why I was driving so fast.

So my thoughts on this, In both cases i was driving faster
than the posted limit. I didn't argue or contest either ticket
In the first case even though inadvertent, I was being
irresponsible, period end of story. the officer did me
a favour by reducing the kph over.

In the second case I was Knowingly exceeding the limit
and it was a legitimate ticket.
I do have to wonder though, which of us constituted the
              greater hazard to public safety.

Army, Skateboarding is not illegal "guilt by association" is
It one of those costs of freedom we pay

Tack, I'm certainly glad that you and most of the rest of
your fellow officers are out there. Its ironic that on
the few occasions that I genuinely deserved your attention
that the officers were unfailingly polite. and the jerks
came along when I was minding my own business walking along the street (really).

I'm sure it was unintended as this is a police discussion
but the police were hardly the only ones running into the
              WTC on sept 11.

One last thing then I'll stop writing. It's about perceptions.
Why do I (a largely law abiding and responsible person) feel
intimidated by a police car with tinted windows rolled up
trolling slowly through my neighborhood, but happy and
glad to see a friendly person who always says HI, in a police uniform walking,
biking, or on horseback doing the same thing

                  Steveg,

Thanks for the vote of confidence. As for 9-11, There were alot of officers who died inside the buildings along with the fire fighters. I know of two personally who lost close friends because they had entered the building to help get people out.

My thoughts on patrol cars vs. horsback or on bike is that most people still associate the patrol car with high speed chaces and such while the horse patrol and bike are more of prevention and community relations. Also when you actually see an officer out in public instead of in a car, you get a sense that they are real and human, not super men hideing behind a car.

As for the officer driveing very fast, we are highly trained in high speed driveing and defensive/offensive driveing. Most of the people think we just get behind the wheel of a car and think that we not have a license to drive fast. Also, there are situations that call for us to get somewhere fast as we can without turning on our light. This is usually when you are trying to get people into position for something but it can also happen under other circumstances.

OK NOW YOU HAVE DONE IT
you've just earned yourself a metric lesson sonny!

all you need is a metre stick and a pail of water

length base is the metre 1 kilometre=1000metres
                    1 millimetre= 1/1000 metre

volume base is the litre 1 millilitre =1/1000 litre
the litre is defined by a cube 100mm on each
                    side

weight base is the gram 1 kilogram = 1000 grams

this is where the water comes in 1 litre of
pure water weighs 1Kilogram cool huh

temperature, that same water freezes at 0 degrees C
                    and boils at 100 degrees

lets see you do that with inches, pounds, gallons and Fahrenheit

                      Bad Example

I have seen too many cops pretend to be above the law. They claim special privileges and flaunt it in the public eye.
I have seen cops pull friends over to harass them about "embarrassing a fellow officer" in a Tae Kwon Do class.
(This was the latest incident of bad cop behavior that I had to witness)

They may be the few rather than the majority, but it is enough to keep me from being able to trust any officer with my back to them!!!

It's much like paintball players. A few bad apples spoil the image for everybody.

I do my part to make a cop know that he is safe when pulling me over or dealing in any way with me. But I WILL NOT trust him!

actaully in algebra you can do it with inches and pounds and stuff like that, its not nearly as easy but you can do it, actaully its really hard,
and i would prolly agree that its about time for the US to get into the metric system, i mean EVERYONE else uses it. i think its time we show every other country some respect and make it easier for everyone.

but thats just what i think

but you know they dont wanna do it, it would be a major hasstle

Tack just to expand a bit on the trolling police cars
bit. I lived for 10 years in a really nice part of
Toronto called the Beaches. Its not far from a place
called Cherry beach. (Toronto members will know were i'm
going with this) There is what is called the Cherry
beach express Its not a ride you want to take and
                          its not a urban myth.
I have sat 3 times in the locked back of a police car
because the officers did not like my looks, young, long hair
and beard (still two of those three) 2 times I was hitchhiking
(was and still is legal here) and 1 time while
waking along the street Thats what does it for me.

Recently here in New Brunswick an RCMP officer was found
guilty of dangerous driving causing an accident for
doing the same thing I described. The speed doesn't
bother me it's the turning part.

Cherry beach is a beach in Toronto about 10 minutes
from downtown at night its dark, deserted and remote.
The Cherry beach express was, and once in the recent past
the place were some of the finest of torontos finest
would take someone that they decided to beat the
                              crap out of.
I have no idea why all the good police officers everywhere
                              put up with this stuff.
