I agree, i've seen pw'ing drop dramatically on other forums when the post count has been dropped. Plus it'll make Pyro cry.

                post count stays

if you say "i worked hard for my post count" then that is giving you a new low.

if you post just to make it go up, then you too have acheived a new low.

on other forums the thing i want to know the most is how many posts people have. it SHOULD show intelligence, maturity, and helpfulness to other by having a high post count. otherwise you're just a can of spam.
of course, im not saying people with low counts aren't smart, mature, or helpful.

i say no more of this "changing AO" kind of thing.
we should stay the way we are, and enhance upon our weaknesses. whether that be stupid "post whores", dumb threads made just to post crap, and flaming flamers.

                    NOOOOOOO!

post counts help new members know who to ask for help and the trading thing is a big help too. If someone just post on AO to sell things, you know they would have no prob totaly scamming you and never coming back to AO. But if you were Buying from Pyro, you know he would never scam you cuz if he couldn't take being banned and loosing his post count. An active member of Ao will be less likely to scam you cuz they like being on AO and don't want to loose respect.

Post counts help you know who is an active member of the comnity and who just kinda "lurks" around the forum. And with out post counts, we would never have been able to have the million post chat party.

Be cool, Don't be a fool, the post count will stay, or you will all pay.

                    Have a nice day

you gain respect my having meaningful posts, I wouldnt trust most of these post whores in trading (you gain trading creditablity with feedback, not post count )

Whether you like it or not, it gives you credibility in the selling process, so, no, dont get rid of it

I dont really think it matters how many posts people have. Just my opinion. I mean look around you should be able to tell who posts a lot.

I say its not needed, with an exception...

I have to agree with both of these points... and if there was a happy medium then everything would be cool.

AO needs people that can provide REAL posts, but the numbers do provide a reference point to newer users about the rep of the established AOer. Just my .02

we go into the thread and see his post count read: cphilip owns or something along those lines.
