All my commissar models are pretty sweet.

I have both Yarricks (2nd Edition and Armageddon), a converted Mordian lieutenant (at least I think he was a Mordian, oh well), and the commissar with the cloak over his shoulders, with a powerfist and a sword. (Coolest... commissar.. ever...)

I have a lot of Heroes of the Imperium models. I have Missionaries, Preachers, Priests, Assassins, etc. Callidus assassin is one of the best things you can put in a Guard army. She can rape entire squads in hand to hand.

Yeah, I'm actually just painting him now.

I ran out of scab red, though. All my commissars have bright scab red cloaks. Makes them stand out and look authoritative

I have the Commissar with the Power Fist and sword. He is the better one of the lot, though I still think the female one is the better of the lot.
I painted the Power Fist Commissar black with red trim on his over coat.

              nice

the powerweapon of my bike mounted chaplain kept breaking off..... so i took a plastic ork head, drilled a hole in the top and mounted the hole at the base of the powerweapon hand..... used some epoxy to fill the whole, and make strands of hair above the clenched fists where the power weapon(don't remember the name) used to be

now a he's a force commander holding a severed ork head by it's hair

Stupid question to ask, but did you try pinning the weapon (or a replacement) on to his hand? If not, it's something you my want to give a shot.

Head to Sears and pick up one of their cheapo pin vices. They come with 5-8 bits and are less than $10. It's a near necessity if you do any sort of conversion on a regular basis.

Damn you people, now I'm tempted to blow my money on a necron army.

Ah ah ah, don't go buying necrons without fighting them first. Sure the whole get-back-up thing sounds good, but it's really not that great. Space Marines don't have a hard time insta-gibbing them beyong resurrection. So, unless you spend the extra points for the orb of resurrection them warriors get blown to pieces pretty quick. Plus, once they DO get blown to pieces you phase out and screw any teammates you have into a horrible, horrible, space marine ridden death.

Yeah, but they also have a good save and I could bust out the C'tan or whatever.

The C'tan are huge point sinks. Nightbringer is like 360 and the Deciever isn't far off. My good friend played necron and always told me how he wish he'd played a more entertaining army, me being the orc player would usually yell something like WAAAAAGH!!! Joyn da green blur! But he would usually have to calculate all of his points precisely. He tried to maintain 2/3 warriors so that his phase out wouldn't hurt him too bad.

If you do decide to go with the necrons though, get wraiths. those things SHRED EVERYTHING. i'm not kidding at all, those things eat through entire squads of Grey Knights at a time PLUS they can go through walls and terrain.
