as much money as you people put into these ricers I dont see the point, they sound terrible (unless u like the angry weedwacker sound) still are relativly slow, and just looks ugly. I like to laugh at all the morons that put big mufflers and other ugly crap on there cars, mainly spoilers on front wheel drive cars, its hilarious.

Think what you want... The SVT cobra z06 and ect... dont cost 25,000 to begin with.

I agree with you about most Ricers... There is nothing I hate more than some ricer civic that runs a 16 in the 1/4 revving at everything that moves.

But the new breed of turbocharged AWD imports coming from japan are super easy to tune and super easy to make go fast.

Do some research... The new mitsu EVO VIII can be put into the 11's with just $2000 worth of parts. Stock engine internals, stock turbo NO NITROUS along witha 0.98G skidpad rating from the factory.

You have obviously never heard a Boxer engine. It sounds like a Porche.

These things just started popping up on US shores a few years ago Sorry this aint your ricer civic.

Id just wish nissan would import the RB26DET SkylineGTR.

Theres a reason a boxer engine sounds like a Porsche engine - the Porsche that most people associate as being Porsche is a boxer engine

But, do these vehicles after these modifications still meet EPA requirements. Give me a torch, a welder, adn a long bar with a Z06 and we are gaining HP for nearly free as we unrestrict the exhaust a bit. And this is a serious question, do these modifications you are discussing still keep the vehicle in EPA rules?

Yes... but barely I would say 49 state legal... Most people with a stage 4 just program the computer to lean out the engine a bit for extra measure.

The aftermarket computers that come with these kits are amazing. You can modify on the fly every engine parameter and store multiple engine maps depending on what kinda mood your in.

There is even a "Valet" map that can be switched on the fly that makes the car a slowly moving road hazard that cant be revved over 3500 rpm and taken over 55 mph.

Lots of people program thier own "anti-theft" map simply setting the all the fuel and ignition settings to zero. It makes the car impossible to start.

Yes the boxer engine has been the basis of porche and subaru for years. They sound downright mean.

Id wish Nissan would import alot of things, including way back when. The old 240K's, Skylines with the S20 series motors, Skylines with the RB series motors, and the Silvias, all of them, including the S15 They also need to reproduce the 510's and start making the 240s again with the ole sr20dets Makes me a saddddd panda.

Personally, I say screw 'Vettes, give me a Viper MmmmMmmm V12 goodness.

Id take a C6 vette those things look hot.

Id take a viper SRT too...

            Oh the choices...

Your right all that nissan imports nowadays are the weeeeenie little econo engines.

Though the VQ engine is a very good Naturally aspirated platform. It dosent hold a candle to any RB motor.

RB26DET Goodness This definatley sounds like a fart pipe civic

Intoducing the turobcharged AWD 2.6 liter Nissan Skyline GTR...

            file... save as...

            Heres a cool website.

            The car is still streetable.

That's why I'm not a fanboy, to many choices. The Evo is a great car and takes very well to mods, not to mention the tried and true bullit-proof 4G63. Though I do have to say that the '03 Cobra is the best bang for your buck out there.

I'm surpised John Shepard's 8 sec DSM isn't on there. www.shepracing.com That's damn streetable, hell almost daily driven. My choice for a daily driven import would have to be a MkIV Supra with a Ford 9 inch rear end and a single turbo conversion. 600-700 horse power on pump and stock motor. Hell on race gas the 2JZ can handle about 900 stock.

WRX's are FAST. A stock WRX's 0-60 is something like 5.2sec, and a stock STI's 0-60 is 4.8 sec, plus they have a huge advantage off the line with their AWD. The engine DOES NOT sound ****ty, nor does it sound like a weedeater **cough**HONDA**cough**. WRX has a very deep note when fitted with the right exhaust system. The Corvette may be slower off the line, that really wouldn't suprise me since they have some WRX's blowing away Ferrari 360's in 0-60 and 1/4 mile. Don't believe me? Check out www.ferrarichat.com and search, you will find some threads people made about getting beat by WRX's.

Again I am with Butterfingers. The RB motors are way ahead of the VQ motors. Stronger internals, wilder cams, lower compression for turbo applications right off the bat, etc. RB motors are like what the 350ci motors did for Chevy, and 302 did for Ford, but more up to date with FI, DOHC, and VVT. Other I6's I like: Toyota 2JZE, the Jeep I6s(don't know the engine name, not for racing performance, but they are built like rocks)

Say hi to 10'2 at sea level.
Forget the nitrous, and spend the money on a bigger cam, and a nice set of heads. You will probably see about the same gain.

And why in the hell would you do headers and keep the cat and stock exhaust?

Those mods will actually make the car slower, unless chip tuning is done as well.

Damn it looked like you guys were about to throw down.....what a twat though didn't pay up. Thats a bad rep.

My friends older brother won a pink slip race a few years ago.....they give up the car and while hes getting in it (in front of his own hosue with his little brothers watching) the guy that lost cruises up in a car pops out the sun roof and puts a clip into his back.

Just on spring break this year the youngest died in a car accident...only one son left in the family.
