Thats not the point. The point is that you get labeled a liberal by saying any of those things. Liberal is the catch phrased used by conservatives to specify anyone that doesnt agree with them. The term liberal no longer has any bearing in the real world, due to its misuse.

1stdeadeye I would be curious as to what your, and FOL's definitions of the term Liberal are. I'm taking no political side in this debate, I am merely trying to understand where both sides come from.

It's like how communism became with McCarthy, even if someone did one little thing that disagreed with the way the US was handling the communism threat, they were lableled as communist and lost all credibility. Even though you may be in the center of the playing field, republicans will automatically label you as a liberal because you partially disagree with them.

part of the reason "a TEACHER who...." is branded a liberal is because about 75% of them out there ARE! You don't find that many (there are some) who are conservatives. I'm not saying this as a good thing or a bad thing, just as a matter of fact.

ay time for my second political post (2 in one day). Um yea i agree. Although i stopepd caling myself a democratic sometime ago(like a year) when i started to get a little upset with the party not clearly defining itself. I promptly called myself liberal, having little knowldge of third partes at the time. I find that ontop of being caled liberal, not that i really mind being called liberal since liberal IS NOT A BAD THING, i get called evil. Because of certain things i say i get a nagtive conotation atached to myself.just find it to e unusual i guess.

oh and as you guys were mentioning the liberal academia. It seems to me people go to school for to become a teacher then become teachers, something is persuading only liberal people to become teachers. Whos fault is that. Teachers put up with some craptabulous wages, turst me around here it sucks.If you dont want your son or daughter to grow up to be liberal because its zee deevil, then raise him or her on conservative principles...doesnt seem that hard to me. oh welll another arguement another time.
