I'm a liberal, but gun control isn't on my radar.

    No, it does not matter.

I did the same thing once. The teacher made us talk about controversial stuff to force her opinions - we were talking about gun control and stuff, and I had unpopular things to say. I thought what I said was common sense, and was surprised at the reaction of those I know now as "liberals." Didn't know what that meant before, I just thought they were retards.

People in my school are like that too. My English teacher was whineing about Bush, Iraq, all the normal things today and I think he shat himself when I started arguing with him. Then I had the whole class throwing BS at me.

I had many people in a class pretty ticked at me once but it was not political in nature. It was a discussion about creatine supplementation in a non-health class and I was the only one there with any excercise physiology background. I was just trying to educate them and these meat heads didn't want to hear it.

It's true that not all Democrats are liberals, a majority of them are and they pimp any little shred of firearms used in crime to push thier agenda. In many ways they are right, we have to keep firearms out of the hands of criminals. When I surf the 'net I check out the anti-gun websites to see what they're up to, and the Brady Campaign site (Handgun Control, Inc.) is pimping semi-auto "assault weapons" as "rapid-fire assault weapons", and that turns my stomach.

Good for you for standing up for what you believe in, whether it shares my viewpoint or not. FYI I'm an NRA member, and an AK-47 owner.....

I took a class on Vietnam once. It was taught by a war protester, and 90% of the class was anti-war of any sort.

Oddly enough, the class was divided into groups, and our group ended up with the only two people in the class who would defend the soldiers and argue. (Me and some other guy, and we had a girl who agreed with us more because she liked to argue than anything else I think).

The time where the rest of the class flipped out was when we discussed the My Lai massacre.

For those who don't know the background, there was a large group of people, and supposedly some VC mixed in amongst them, in the village of My Lai. In the end over 350 people, including civilian men, women, and children ended up dead as american troops opened fire on the village.

It degraded into an arguement as to whether or not civilian casualties are acceptable in any situation, and we were argueing that in certain cases that they are something are acceptable (but should be minimalized). We didn't stick to My Lai in particular because it was pretty much a massacre no matter how you look at it, but it turned into a pretty heated arguement. I think most of the class hated our group.

oh we aknowledge that not all dems are libs. but those who are, pretty much ruin it for the rest of ya.

i like the joke that john kerry is jogging dow the road and sees a sign for free puppies and he goes up to the lady and asks what kind of puppies they are and the woman responds "theyr liberals". kerry thought that was cute so he brought joe liberman over to see the puppies when they showed up he asked the lady again, what kind of puppys are they, this time she answers "theyr republicans" he asks wernt they liberals last week? she says "yes, but then they opened thier eyes"

I love this pro gun group, and all of you should look around their website. Their reason for keeping guns around is very important, and they and 170 Million others killed by their governments in the past century would say that gun control is bad. If you have friends that are anti gun, I would encourage showing them Innocents Betrayed, a movie sold on JPFOs web site.

and that they help keep the socialists who want to take away our right to hunt, and defend ourselves (cuz my home alarm system is a rottweiler/akita mix and a 12 gage) in check.
Do you know what a socialist is?

I'm all for keeping guns in moderation, I don't see exactly why people need things like assault rifles, the only reason I've heard is because its in the constitution. And that was written quite some time ago.
