I love animals and am disgusted by any form of animal cruelty. HOWEVER... I'm hard pressed to believe anything that comes from PETA. They are the worst kind of animal activists and do nothing to further their own cause. At times, their methods border on terrorism and give all animal rights groups a bad name.

If it were up to them, no one would be permitted to own any kind of pet under any circumstances. I'm as much anti-PETA as I am anti-animal cruelty.

i saw that link a week or two ago, i just finished doing a project on animal cruelty. There are actually a lot worse things done to animals than what is in that link. for instance, read this article about the treatment of pigs; you can see the video (link at the right of the page) if you want to. Sixx - you may have trouble beleiving the articles, but you cant argue with the video. and if you dont want to trust PETA, look at this link . It is somewhat hard to get to the information (you may have to change the url to get to the next page ie. 01, 02, etc.) but it has a lot of information. Oh yeah, and also contrary to popular beleif pigs arent "pigs" naturally, they are fed drugs to make them overeat to fatten them up. And if you want to know how chickens are raised, look here , especially towards the bottom of the page. there are some more videos of the treatment of cows, pigs and chickens here . cows are often killed by having their throats slit and then being left to die, and chickens are sometimes killed as mentioned in the above links, and sometimes just smashed against the ground. I could go on and on, but i know most of you arent listening. i thank the three of you that have read this far and looked at some of the links .

large companies often care about profits, nothing else. If they can profit from doing it, they will. Although I will admit PETA probably does exagerate things, i would like to see firsthand what happens.

LOL! Another liberal bleeding heart child. I will drop some education on your ignorant self. Have you raised swine? I have. I did for ten years. I had a grinder, I made their food myself. Much like 90% of the hog farmers in this country. There are no drugs to cause over eating. First, I have seen a hog over-eat, they vomit. It is impossible to feed an animal beyond the contents of it stomach.

ok, pigs wont overeat dangerously as some animals will, if they are given unlimited access to food. And true, you and most farmers or small buisnesses do not use drugs... but larger companies do.

And if your source was so completely and utterly wrong on 90% of the hog farmers in the country, do you honestly believe that it is correct about the other 10%? Hogs are for eating. as i said, the source was concerning factories, not small farms. And no, pigs arent for eating... they are animals, like humans are. They arent "made" for humans to kill and eat; get over yourself, nothing is made soley to support your existance. And seriously, you can shut up about me trying to look "cool" in front of my friends, you have no idea who i am or who my friends are. anyone who promotes a cause to look cool is an idiot. Anyway, I am only friends with two people that are vegetarian/pro animal rights, both of which I have met in the past 3 months... and about half of my friends are conservative anyway, in fact one of my friends is a leader of the young republicans club.

and as for there not being a drug to make pigs eat more, its on this site: http://sztybel.tripod.com/facts.html under the heading "factory farming." it is also on other websites. but anyway, drugs being used to make pigs overeat is only a very small part of the issue of treatment of animals.
