Gots my first Vet Badge yesterday, Pistol Combat. Woop. Got the Basic and Veteran one at the same time (7 Pistol kills in one round (basic) + 50 Global Pistol kills (both for vet).

I have to ask though. It wasn't some weird pistol/knife server was it?

I'm still waiting for my veteran Engineer or Combat Engineer to pop up. I should work on my TOW/ground defense badge and medal. I had a shot at my knife medal. Sharqui Penninsula or whatever it is, snuck behind a bluff FULL of snipers. Stabbed two and was approaching the other three when a friendly airstrike nuked us all. Wasn't on a squad so didn't get the verbal warning. I even managed to forgive the CO for the TK. Meh. And my next promotion is at 11000, not 10000. Dang math. So still 500 points to go. Or basically a few rounds piloting the chopper on Mashuur City Probably go with the PKM just for taking out the light vehicles/assault chopper better. I can find the medic unlock from most dropped medic kits by now.

no new news on the subforum. webby pmed me about it 3 weeks ago and said he'd have it up in a couple of days, but still nothing. ive contacted him as well as a couple of other people about it, and no response. i dont know what to tell ya.

Nah, regular server. Just wnet pistol whoring. Owned some dude that was wildly firing at me with a rifle. Dude musta been pissed.

Oh I'm not mad at the goofy servers. Just think its funny if someone has to use one to get some medal they just HAVE to have. But yes, some maps are inherintly biased to specific actions. On Mashtuur, you have to repeatedly take the same 2/3 flags because your team can't really hold them, and they'd rather have a big firefight over 2/3 other flags. But just making the other team bleed points by having less flags for a few minutes helps the overal win situation.

Also most maps the choppers are a bit easier to aquire than the jets/bomber, and I'd rather not sit at a spawn waiting for one. And I suck at infantry close combat unless I'm playing defense. So I stick to the air and just have to worry about other jets for the most part. Plus the TV guided missles are just too cool. Hence why I stick to support roles and play Engineer/Support. I don't think I have more than 30 top 3 medals for gold/silver/bronze total so its not like I'm 'owning' anyone.

The most infantry action I get is usually being a Spec Ops squad ammo donkey playing support to take out command assets. Though maps with muliple tanks/APCs are fun getting 3 or so engineer drivers making just a field of repair power to cover one another.

As for the snipers and spec ops, I think its funny they will take a jet/chopper and bail out over some spawn just to snipe most of the map, then whine to the CO for a supply drop.

Man, I still gotta hook up with you guys. Gotta get a list of favorite servers going or a post with all the online stat trackers that show when someone is online and where. I'm usually on 8-10pm central.
