The buffulo were interesting but at least one of those hippo's was just standing there. Do people even eat them? Shooting hippos seems like a pretty sad way to get your kicks. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against hunting but that was just shooting. Why not just shoot at a target if you aren't going to eat it?

Sullivan is a Professional Hunter, we call them hunting guides here in the US. If you look closely, all the animals had been wounded by the "hunter", leaving the very dangerous job of killing the beast to the PH.

Cape Buffalo are un-equaled in their absolute meaness in tromping humans into goo, and more humans die from Hippo attacks than nearly all other animals in Africa combined.

            Ya, we should kill them.

            Wait...

Are you stupid? It doesn't mean it's ok just to randomly kill them, for 'sport.' Hunting for food is one thing, but hunting for sport is totally unnecessary. Then again, I don't know many people this day in age who have to hunt to get there food, considering the availability.

            Meh. Whatever.

Its all properly managed...like a fur farm. They will always have animals to hunt. They raise them, whack um and stack um. Thems is some big arse bullets. Do know that those Cape Buffalo are THE meanest thing that roams the earth. They will kill you for sure. Some day I am gonna go try that...

Actualy needing food is one thing and not really the whole story. Needing to hunt to keep populations in check and healthy by thinning the heard and then utilizing the meat for food is more like it. Around here we are the only preditor and many species are overpopulated and in need of reduction.

Although a few still do "need" the food... more do it as a past time, hobby and adventure and then utilize the food because they respect that creed. Some (if not most) just like the meat. Many of the people I know like the taste of game meat. And they enjoy it. Some even eat it because it is healthier than farm raised meats. Leaner and less Antibiotics and Hormones.

I have two Deer in the Freezer now. Been eating Deer meat almost five times a week for a couple weeks now. Hope to put two more in there before end of season. My wife cannot eat Beef or Pork because of allergies. So she looks forward to Deer season and getting some Deer meat. And she does not even hunt.

Many road kill Deer around here are salvaged by DR and go to the local childrens home and charities.

Most hunters eat their kill and or give it to someone who does.

And I would suggest you not call Army stupid...

Yes, I'm stupid. I only know that the herds in Africa are heavily and scientifically managed to maintain healthy, disease free animals.

I'm also stupid in knowing that animals taken during paid safari, are first given to local tribes, then to local governments, then to the PH's hired hands. The paying hunter does not take any meat home, only the cape or hide.

I suppose I'm too stupid to know that if these animals were allowed to be hunted, they would soon over-populate their ecosystems, and venture into areas NOT controlled, resulting in their being poached for their horn or organs, leaving the carcass to rot, This helps no-one.

I suppose I'm too stupid to understand that the PH farms are the ONLY way the wild herds of Elephants have been returning to pre 1900 era populations.

                  Yup, stoopid 'ol me.

Meh not impressed. Real challenging to walk right up to an animal the size of a car and shoot it. The hardest part is walking around. You can do that at the mall.

Yeah, I don't think provoking an animal, then shooting it in the face as it runs towards you is really giving it a choice as to how it will die.
It's kinda like the 'It's coming right for us!' method, only slightly enhanced.

if he went up to the animal face to face and then fought it mabye that would be ok but the things he was doing was horriable

Oh yes... Judging by my post I'm all for PETA. Wait... Those are a bunch of nutsack, extremist, idiots. Just because I think killing animals for sport is stupid doesn't mean a damn thing in regards to what you just said.

You inferred that you felt it was ok to just kill them because they kill people. I'm sorry... But some people are just full of themselves. Animals are no more 'overpopulated' as a whole than people are. All he did was stand there, wait for it to charge, and shoot it in the face.

For a person to be able to kill something just for a trophy... Well, he must be pretty damn stupid, indeed. Don't try and give me some life speech... Maybe you missed the point I was trying to convey, and that is senseless killing of animals for comic or entertainment value is wrong. No justification necessary. It is very unlikely that the guy cares about feeding the 'tribes.' This moron is probably no different than the stupid hicks in my town that drive around killing pet cats. This goes for all the jackasses that would pay MONEY to WATCH some guy shoot animals in the face.

So why don't you take your monkey-skull, redneck BS, and try to educate yourself on what goes on outside of your simple, ole' fashioned life... Wait, what was the point. You obviously know everything about Africa, you joined the army.

WATCH OUT GUYS! The professor is here! He makes dinosaurs!

It would obviously take away some of the inherent advantages that any goober can acquire with a gun.

Better recluse back to my bedroom... I obviously don't get out much... But Army does, he visited Africa to study scientific buffalo-population-control.
