top 100 guitarists of all time

I was just reading The Rolling Stones magazine list of the top 100 guitarists of all time. I have to disagree with them on a majority of the placements.
here is the full list

Kurt Cobain at number 12? no way does he deserve that. he was good, but nothing special. Jimmy Page was number 9, and I felt he could have been MAYBE in the top 5. Jimi Hendrix is number 1, and thats about the only thing I agree with
the one that really kills me is Jack White of the White stripes coming in at number 17. why though? i mean, the guy has the whole 3 notes per song.
so basically, what are your opinions on this list?

Most top lists don't actually take into concideration of skill.

It's mostly about popularity of the person/band.

Hendrix was good, but not the best ever.

That list sucks. Not only do they ignore certain great guitarists (Michael Hedges, Yngwie), the arrangement of the limited selection given is terrible. Joni Mitchell is ahead of Angus Young? Kurt Cobain is ahead of Carlos Santana????

That whole list is a big steaming pile of crap. Why is it that all top <insert subject here> lists are either popularity contests, or some snobbish list made up completely of obscure and esoteric artists?

IMO buckethead is top 5, he could rock an entire city to its knees. the guy plays the halloween theme with one hand. the other person who should be in the top 5 is the kid on ebaumsworld who plays the mario theme.
