Learn "language"? Ok....considering I'm an English major I'll go ahead and learn "language" for you. Cursing does not define idiocy. I've written several papers in which I've received A+'s, and they included swears. You should write a letter to ASU informing them on the idiocy of their professors.

It looks like something Osama would say? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my entire life. I'm sorry I'm not gung-ho for President Bush, and last time I checked his approval rating, approximately 70% of the population was right along with me. Thanks, come again.

        my .02$

First and foremost I would like to thank Any and all americian armed services for their work/support/duty that they have given to our counrty

I agree with our support in Iraq, and always will becuase our President which we voted in chose to. This is not to say that he was right or wrong, and I beleive that only time will tell if this was or wasnt a mistake. He/our goverment chose to start this war with the info they had in hand. I also strongly beleive that once a job is started it should be finished.

As far as the reason for going into Iraq. I dont care. I consider Saddam a WMD. I consider radical religious groups WMD. Both of which we have found, and will continue to find. Will we never find "nuclear bombs", and I am not even sure if he ever had any. Did he have nerve gas or other various chemical weapons. Yes. Will we ever know how much he had, or find all of his "WMD"? No.

As far as Why I beleive that we should stay in Iraq. 9/11, attacks on Spain, attacks on England's Airports, Etc, Etc, Etc. I dont want a fight on Americian soil. I feel that staing on the attack (similar to in paintball) will keep our country safe (ie the flag).

Will we ever "win". That is completely based on ones own definition of a "win". I think that we will secure the freedoms that we currently have by stablizing the middle east.

One thing that I think everyone should try to understand is the culture that we are fighting. I have done alot of studing the muslim religion since we decided to go into war, and here is my take on it. We will never "win" in the middle east untill we educate their people as a whole. According to their religion they are doing what is right by fighting people who oppose their religion IE America, British, etc. This would be similar to telling us that 2+2=77. As strongly as Americians/whoever feel about this war/progress in Iraq is as strong as the Iraq resistance feels against it. As soon as the majority of Iraq can set aside its oppinion, and take a look at the "big picture" and realize that we have to have rules, and one of those rules are to allow people to live in peace and not be dictated we will not "win", and this will take time.

Is Saddam out of power? yes

Was his Republican Guard defeated? yes

so, by that definition the war was in fact over with a victory. However, since then outside forces, notably our "good buddies" from Al Qaeda, have encouraged some Iraqis, along with many foreigners, to wreak havoc in Iraq.

The Iraq war was won and is over.

dealing with an insurgency, Al Qaeda in Iraq, and a bunch of pissed of Muslims (whether or not they have a legitimate reason to be pissed off, or if they just dont like sleeping in the sand every day of their life's so they always walk up unhappy) is a different issue.

The US accomplished its initial objectives for the war, removing Saddam from power. clearly, how difficult it would be to establish democracy in this nation and the insurgency after the war ended were not factored into the equation. That, in my opinion, is the biggest mistake the Bush administration has made.

Hmm, did you see my points questioning the war planning and consideration of the historical context? No, of course not, it didn't agree with your opinion of those who might differ from your opinion. Sadly you and some who are the other end of the spectrum are alike in that as soon as someone disagrees with you you attack them rather than your views.

I'm going to admit I was wrong, it was not your language that made you look like an idiot...

This is where years of US policy goes bad. We always assumed we could "decapitate" that hatred by taking out its leaders. In a society of martyrs we are finding that is a problem.

Its similar to "you can take the boy out of the country, but you cant take the country out of the boy"

We have to educate the younger generations that their countries previous "ways of life" dont have to/dont need to continue. This is where we are going to have to live with the fact that it is going to take time (which some of us are not willing to give). We have to be patient, and try to be the big brother if we want a safe middle east/America for ourselves/children/grand children.

Rome was not built in a day, and the middle east is not going to be tamed in a day. Persistance, and patience will evetually allow these people to live free lives.

Edit: 1000 post. Too bad DonM got there before me
