Whats even funnier, is that those liberals or think they are, and blame the republicans for wanting the draft back are sorely deluded. In fact the congressmen/senators who have proposed bills to reintroduce the draft have been.. can you guess.... yup DEMOCRATS.
Personally I am a republican, as you can probably tell from my previous post. However I will take a 'liberal' slant here for a moment. The republicans do not want the draft reinstated as it is bad publicity and they dont want thier 'rich' sons going off to war.
Unfortunately nothing any of us say publicly can change anyone elses mind in this topic due to the high level of emotions involved. Unfortunately Politics are not rational. All rational thought escapes out the window and soon as politics enters the room.
On the exit strategy thing, umm how long were we in europe and Japan after WWII ? It wasn't as rosy as the then ( imo rightfully censored media's) perception of what went on after and during the war. Hell we are still sitting over there and in the pacific theatre. Hell were still in Korea and that war never officially ended. Vietnam was not an officially declared war so somewhat doesn't count but we cut and run, and the end result of that wasn't pretty.
Oh well, Does not matter the only thing that really bites me are those that enjoy the freedoms and liberties afforded them by the sacrifices made by our servicemen and women, yet will refuse to do the same if they are called upon. Instead they choose to cut and run like a spineless cowards they really are.
And yes I would be in the military right now serving in Iraq or Afghanistan right now if they would have let me. I tried 3 times and was turned down 3 times.
