ULE MiniMag Body

I'm going to machine a prototype of this tomorrow.
Its 6061 aluminum 1/4" x 6" x 9" (approx) cnc machined not laser engraved.
The back will be machined so it can be hung on the wall.
I will be donating some of the funds from each sold to the AO fund raiser.
These plaques will come with Tom K's autograph. (This run only)
Only the number sold will be made in this exact configuration. So they may have some collector value. Design, machine time and materials dicta...

This rail design was talked about a few months back, there was some interest at the time so I went ahead and did the prototypes to test the programming. Engraving shown would NOT be standard but an add-on. Rails are ULE milled with foregrip slots. Automag rails would have a duel slot for use with both AGD style VASA's. RTP full length slot for 2 screw VASA. Both rails match factory lengths. Milled for all body styles. RTP is 1.00" wide. AM rail is 0.98" Both rails can be pump milled. ...

Ok, so with the rails out and the bodies on the way.....we figured we needed some nice grips to put everything together.

We need to make a batch of the body blanks then figure out how they will be sliced up. For this level of detail, the body will probably be around 300 (detents included). We'll get more details available a little later!

Love it or hate it this is my version of a valve cap for a classic valve.

The hole in the back if for a burst disc to make these safe. caps are side drilled to use a spanner wrench to install them.



note: the uninstalled cap has not yet been drilled.....the one pictured on the valve is the 1st piece off the mill....

Im putting together a phoenix emag for myself. The plan is to make all the stainless steel parts in the gun out of titanium and do some extreme ULE machining..both milling and turning.

As promised i finished the machining on the prototypes. Its amazing how much lighter my red smear rt is with the ULE body, X valve and ULE milling...It cut 11oz. off the weight of the gun!!!!!! I might sell some of the prototypes in my SUPER SALE i will be having on the 1st of January. I am currently crunching the numbers to figure out how much to charge.
