Simplification of Hotel Reservations

After some discussion regarding reservations and all that, it has been decided that it would be too inconvenient to have you guys send one of us money before hand. With that in mind, here is the plan.

You guys book your own rooms. This allows for you all to plan at your own pace and not be tired into our deadlines. In addition, you don't have to worry about losing money if you back out.

Next you would email me to let me know where you are staying. I can then post the info (with your permission of course) on the list on page 1. You can all PM each other and make your rooming plans privately.

I have been informed that if we can get 50+ people confirmed, that there is a HIGH probability that AGD will send out a rep to sell stuff and event prices (bling bling). I say maybe because:

1)- I don't know if a lot of you will bail on the 11th hour (Not you NorCal guys )

2- AGD is not very interested in us West Coast people. Apparently the SoCal event they last attended was a flop and they are not as eager to rush out.

Anyhow that is the long and short of that little tweak. I have sent off that PM about paint and many of you have responded already (thanks). I did not reach the Hampton Inn today and left another message... might be time to drive down there in person.

Ok, I am going to be reffing this so, as far as a tourney stuff goes you put toghether your squads and stuff we will mark it like we have done it before, and follow the rankings, to fields and schedules. But people will need to be good sports this a AO fun day not a real tourney so be happy, please don't let it get the best of you, that is all I ask if we do it this way!

Good call - you have enough on your plate. My advice would be to focus on the things that we can't do individually, like the air issue and field issues. Don't kill yourself trying to manage travel issues for us.

As far as AGD representation, that would be great. Might be a self-fulfilling prophecy - if they commit, more people would commit. However, I would understand 100% if they choose to wait and see if we pull this off and catch it next time. Are there any AGD dealers coming? Maybe a middle ground would be to provide the dealer with event pricing.

Accomodation-wise, I called Ranco Tee tonight - double rooms are 75$ friday, $85 saturday. Forgot to ask about AAA discounts, will do that. For 4$ more we are going to get a "suite" - still a single room, but with a dining table, couch and a bit more room. Should be good for hanging out and wrenching on gear. Only one king bed, though, LPB will have to sleep standing up.

haha! Everything sounds like its moving along nicely i can't wait for this.
Anyway, Me and ERut have been underway developing t-shirts that would say something like AO Megameet Jan 17-18 2003, blahh blahh. *Would you guys be interested in buying these if we were to make them?* These would be no crappy homemade shirts, we're talking about proffessional stuff here, we've got inside connections for good prices.
