I had to change the design some.

As you all know,.. its rather an eye sore to see microswitch pins or screws sticking out from the edges of grip pannels.

I want this to look and shoot like quality.

So,.... I junked the frame I did and made a new one in a few hours today. The trigger guard pockets sport some tighter lines of milling and alot more smooth fillets. Almost like a ripple from the pannel section.

The original pannels will not fit this frame,.. but the new ones are almost an exact copy of the originals. The main difference is the wider spot for the front pannel screws and a cover for the micro switch pins.

Have I designed the pannels yet? No. But I know what they will be just by the lines of the frame,... Jay will not dissapoint.

Here is what was sent to Jay for a look over

Here you can see the new milling on the trigger guard and pannel lines

This is something everyone will enjoy. I was wiring up the proto-type and it was getting difficult to make things fit nice and do a good job on the wire runs. I got to thinking about it,.. and I desided that since we are starting from the ground up,.. why not make this have some user friendly things like other frames do we sometimes take for granted.

So I came up with this

Its a 2 tab system that hold the battery in place and prevents it from smashing against the controller board and the capacitor. The top section holds the capacitor in place so your wires will stay in place as well.

the tabs are an awesome idea. i really like the over all thought process of this whole thing. I look forward to seeing the proto type in working order. keep up the great work

I was thinking that if they (frame, noid, and board) will be coming as parts anyway, it would be helpful for you and give Jay an indication of interest.

It wouldnt help you in anyway because it wouldnt help me.

It would cost more money to get the parts to you and then get them back to me.

I bought all the parts to do at least 25 frame in just this model. I do plan/have (and have already designed) another new frame to use up some more of the parts I have bought (Im waiting for the design to be approved and this frame to ship out).

Im dead set on keeping no pre-order on these frames,.... depending on machining costs,... we might be able to succeed. I have the electroncs covered,... so we are close.

So any updates on this? I wanted to buy the parts to put in my intelli for a sleeper look, but from the sounds of it the intelli look won't be as pretty. So now I'm waiting patiently (or not) for the frame. Will this run with a classic valve, or does it require the extra pushback of the RT?

              I have some updates:

I have purchased a UMF from Josh (Mann) on the AO. When that frame arrives, it will be sent out to get milled for a conversion. At which time I will have a quote for converting the UMFs. Other frames will follow. I have Scott's (BigEvil) Intelli frame here (which I am modeling right now) so I will be sending out one of those to get converted as well.

So thats the status on the Frame Conversions.

              Status on the new frame:

Jay machined the proto-type as you know,.. and I have made some changes to it as you have all seen from the posts above. Here is where the holdup is comming from,.... me!

I think its more safe to have Jay build me a proto-type to test and bill me for than it is to have us "guess" if the run of frames will indeed work. The quality of work will be MUCH higher as well as the resulting lead time less if we cut all the frames at once. I have to pay out of pocket for a new proto-type and Jay has 1-2 projects ahead of this one now due to time on machines.

Ive checked my design every day for a week now,.. and I am confident this will be the model we are running with. (the one with the "tab system" in it) We are going to cut the frame and get some panels under way.

There has been other projects going on behind the scenes on my end,.. so I am trying to keep up with the never ending list of things that need to be done.

Keep subscribing to the threads guys,... keep asking about stuff. I can only keep updating the thread as I see the activity on them!!!!

Jay is still working on the proto-type,.. theres 4 jobs ahead of this one.

In the mean time I have made a link on BEO for the next project comming up.

Here is a direct link to "P8nt's Next Project"

The project is not dead,... There is alot of work ahead of it at the moment,.. so were waiting for the proto-type at this point.

I know I keep saying "were waiting",... but on my end,.. waiting is ALOT cheaper at the moment. To cut a proto-type frame it can cost above $250 for just the labor, material, and fixtures.

Give the times are what they are right now,... I dont have a whole lot of money at this point to roll out into a frame design I am not certain will work 100%

I am certain the measurements I used will perform as you would expect if you were to purchase a product of mine. But that just isn't good enough for me,... I want to test EVERYTHING and make sure when I tell someone to "go ahead" with the production run, we have a product that will perform as well as sell quickly.

The newer vertical frame wont be for sale untill all the frames Jay is working on are sold.
I have everything ready for these frames,... were just waiting till its 100%

                        frames

Will either the "V1 frame or vertical logic type" fit an AM/MM rail?

Yes. The "wings" do not come on these frames. So it will fit AM/MM/RT rails.

The trigger guard on the new vertical frame was moved inward to the hand to allow for a vertical ASA as well.

I asked above but I think you missed it. Will this frame work with standard classic valves, or will we need an RT or ULT? Thanks.

I will have to test it. But as I remember it,.. a classic valve with a Hyperframe produced iffy results. These are new solenoids so maybe it will fair better to work with the on/off pin.

Your best bet would be a ULT because of the battery life you will be saving.
