Timmy = most popular / dominant gun at PSP Philly Open 2003 ???

From a performance point of view... who knows? maybe?

From a marketing and exposure point of view... YES!

I was browsing through all the gallery photos of the X ball games here:

It was just an observation, not a scientific study, but but was very clear that the gun with the most "exposure" due to action photos, was the Timmy.

Why? Are they that popular or dominant?

Click on the link above and count how many of each type of gun you see. From random browsing I estimate:

1. about 36% - Timmy
2. about 18% - Impy
3. about 18% - Matrix
4. about 15% - Angel
5. about 10% - Cocker
6. about 03% - Mag

Again... this was just a random sample. Maybe some could spend the time and count each each shown.

What does this mean?

Absolutely NOTHING as far as which gun performs the best.

However, it means a lot as far as marketing and exposure is concerned.

Wouldn't it be cool if AUTOMAG'S flooded the galleries like Timmy's ?

No doubt a lot has to do with sponsorship. But dang, does Bob sponsor that many more teams than WDP, WGP, and AGD ???

Do all these pro players know something about gun performance that we don't know?

People say: "Flavor of the month", "new fad", "jump on the bandwagon", etc.

Is this true or just sour grapes over the fact that better guns have passed them by?

NO NO NO... Its cuz Timmy's Cheat... I mean c'mon any average joe can shoot like 18bps wit a timmy w/ the Was board... So if you have no skillz at all of course yer goin to shoot a timmy... lol all you have to do is fake walk yer trigger... On the other Hand I love my E-mag (its not as nice as the Tunamax though) and can shoot as fast as any cheater timmy user...

Timmies will have their time, and then they will lose popularity. Just like when the mag and cocker used to be the guns to have... and the angel. Just like the boomstick... Trends change. I'd like to see AGD have its turn again. These new slug bodies and what not... may be the start of something that may lead into something big. Then again, maybe not.

The "Same gun, new body" thing has done well for cockers, angels, etc. And I think the AGD black/grey/chrome tube body just could not draw interest with all the shiny pretty stuff out there.

AGD's product line will be so substantially changed that we're gonna hear: "That's a Mag?" At least, I'd like to think so. I really don't know what's left to fix on the mag that people have been complaining about. It doesn't chop, it's purty now, it's built on a solid platform.

I think what needs to happen is: There needs to be a lot of third parties putting out Mag bodies... kinda like how the situation is with cockers. And along with this, 3rd party mags. If you could get guys like DYE, KAPP, etc. making custom Mags... guess what: The teams would have the option to use Mags because it's their sponsor's product.

All we needs is one prominent person, or team to use the new line of Mags... and Snowball!

As a side note... the name: Mag and RT needs to be dropped. The new line of stuff needs a new name. Lose the name, lose the 'old' factor and whatever negativity is associated with those names.

Needs to be new and sparkly from top to bottom.

I'll be happy to represent AGD in the South. All I need is a smaller tank, a new barrel, and a rt valve and I'm game. Now where are my sponsors?

I think it's gonna take a couple of Manny Francias and Clares and Python14s to get a new wave of Automag users going. Not say we aren't a powerful force, because for the honest truth of it, we are. But lets not kid ourselves, you can't throw a rock at the world cup and hit an automag shooter without looking and aiming for a while, or without playing trial and error a couple hundred times. But I seriously think and believe that in my playing career, we will see another wave of AGD users, and I hope be a part of that wave, just as all of you do.

Then I guess I am a dirty cheater and proud of it. And plz dont question my skills cause you've never played me.

This is opening a whole can of worms because i can say something along the lines of, "Well people who use RTs are dirty cheaters why dont they just use a mechanical stock trigger, any average joe can shoot an RT fast."

Also on topic I think intimidators are the most popular because they are not only fast but really simple.

I think he means the ease of programming a little extra bounce in the trigger.
