I wouldn't say it was a "failed" DMW, he just didn't get as far as he hoped I guess.
I've never tried a DMW, but I've been tempted. I have nothing against people trying to use it against me either. No gun/hand in the air and I'll send a couple their way.

dmw I have done this and still do it whenever it is nessisary. I love the dead mans walk and the people I eleminate using the dmw usualy accept the fact I suckered them and they usualy respect me for having the balls for such a riskey manuver. I have only been "cought" once...it was by my english teacher.

That's why you keep an eye on anybody walking off the field as a backman.

And why bonus balls are justified.

And yet we have countless threads about overshooting/bonus balls.

Fact is, DMW is another questionable tactic that is a direct cause of bonus balls. While I concede that there is no specific rule prohibiting it, I feel its a somewhat lame move that causes more hard feelings and extra welts than it justifies as a strategy. I don't think it helps anyone's attitude toward paintball, n00b or regular player, to have a couple extra balls lobbed at you walking off the field, because someone had to make sure you weren't pulling a DMW.

Using eliminated players for cover IS cheating. A true dead man's walk, which you did not do, is not.

                    Dead mans walks are pathetic.

and the person doing the dead mans walk is always the first one to complain about bonus balling.

There is a simple solution I like to follow when playing a tournament. Or even a scrimmage (you practice like you play). If someone is on the field, and their hand and/or gun are not in the air. I shoot the hell out of them. If I see one break and they don't get out of the game, I keep shooting until they do. Pretty simple way to avoid getting caught in a Dead Man's Walk situation.

I don't see any problem with doing it honestly. If the other team, doesn't want to take head to me as a player, I will make them play.

i asked the ultimate judge about this a few times at NPPL and PSP events and there exact words where.

"if the players hand or gun isnt in the air it is legal to shoot that player"

And they SHOULD be shot. IMHO

It is not that hard to hold up your hand or marker.

im the master of the dmw, and it does take alot of balls but i go knowing i may get shot, if i get shot 2 or 3 times thats expected, but if someone were to empty a hopper on me as you people have stated you do, one of us is leaving in an ambulance and one in a cop car, you pick

I wasn't cheating, I had several refs watching me to make sure I wasn't. That maneuver is legal at Paintball Sams.

Also, the line was about 10 guys spaced out over 30 yards, so I wasn't using them as cover. Your opinion may be that I cheated, but the rules of the field state otherwise.

If you don't put your hand and/or gun up in the air, you will get a whole hopper on you. And you better hope the ambulance comes if you try to start something with me. They can use those cool electric shock paddles to revive you.
