why don't tourney guns have a drop?

ok so i noticed on all the high end guns how there is no drop forward for the tank. all i see is a cradel with an on/off. is there something i'm missing? usally i go with a drop. just wondering if there was a reason why the people with high end guns have no drop.

Oh god, hopefully this won't be like everyother drop vs rail thread.

Everyone in the world is using rails because we realized being scrunched up and being stretched out can allow you to shoot more accuractly and faster. Plus you don't have to bend your wrists in strange fashions. I don't think you will see anyone using a drop in the whole pro circuit.

I use a drop cause i have an old 68/3000, but its nice to use the rail if you have a stubby tank.

its much more comfortable, creates a lower profile, and it helps you play tighter, because your elbow isnt sticking oput against the tank. not to mention it can be comfortable length wise with the newer smaller tanks

This is the exact reason tom made the Z-grip. It allowed you to play a really tight game, and not have the binding of the wrist.

I still use drops and I always will. I don't like it when the gun is too long.

Z wasn't functional at all. .45 is the most function grip frame in paintball. Ever try laying down and shooting with a Z? It's next to impossible. Running and shooting with a Z is very difficult also.

I have found that I can shoot faster with drops because my hand is in a more comfortable place. I use a PBX frame, micro drop, and unimount on my Viking and it does it for me.

Comfort is all relative. I think it depends on what kind of gun your using. When using the Mag w/ Y-grip I prefer just a rail and On/Off. But when I'm using my 98 custom I need a drop forward or I'll be hurtin'. The front foregip is too far up and the body is long. Without a drop I have my left arm fully extended which is, to me, very uncomfortable. Most turney guns(I.E. Timmys,Shockers,Cockers) the foregrip is very close to the trigger frame so they play very tight.

But what I do I do because I like to do.

i loved my z, i am still gonna keep it, it only has one playing position, but it is a drop of it's own.

the drop forces your elbow out and makes it harder to walk the trigger!! i like drops for my mechs but rails are much better performance wise!! try one i know i love the way mine feels and im using an 88/4500

I like my drop, it's comfortable, and I play better with one. I'm more compact, I'm tighter, and I just like it better. Now, I also play with a straight on/off. I like that too.

                              IT IS A PERSONAL DECISION.
