    More confortable.
    More practical.
Helps keep ur arms tucked in.
Gun handling (switching hands) is easier.

It's not the fact that you called me a kid that annoys me, it's the fact that you tried to make it seem like you were higher than me by doing it. People read that and think that I'm some random angry little kid.

I did the "personal attack" to reinforce your idea of me being immature, I didn't actually mean it. I have nothing against you, or your pants. It was to continue to make you think I'm narrow-minded, and just here to flame you

What you said earlier was just attacking me because you could, you could have simply said "It's preference, there are pros and cons to both, I use both at different times for different styles of play."

Yet you wrote a 2 page reply... pointless...

And to wageslave, I shoulder the gun in the same spot, no matter the setup I put it in the same spot, so if I have a drop, the gun is going above my head. I know exactly what he said, it just doesn't apply to everyone, I'm not going to hold a gun different because I have a different drop on it, besides hand position.

In the end. DROPS ARE TEH SUXORS!!11ELVEN.

Don't know about others...but i'm 5'2 and my arms are obviously not that long...Comfort is all subjective...I'm sure that it has been proved somewhere that a rail is physically easier to do all the things you need to do on a field...

Just not for me...I don't have a huge drop, just a nice CP Micro drop for a 68/45...

strap my 88 on your gun with no drop......the average person can barely hold it :) that is one long tank(supposed to be long as a 120with the diam of a 68(what crossfire says anwyas))

Fair enough...you have my apologies. I thought you were making a general statement, not saying what you would do in particular.

Personally, I use a rail, but I do so because it feels better for me. I used to use a drop, and besides placing the tank lower than I liked, I also had a tendency to hit my lens on the back of my marker. A rail just puts it in the perfect spot for me....but that's me. I recognize that drops may be "better" for other people, so I won't begrudge them their preference.

I prefer rails most of the time just because it's easier to use. However, for the short time I was using a 114 on my cocker I had a small drop to bring it a little closer. Having my HPR a half-mile away gets annoying. However, It was still about the same length it was when it has a 68 on rail.

I don't see how people can use huge drops though....but I also can't see how people can drink Natty light....so go figure.

alot of tournament players have found that a setup with a rail drop rather than a drop foreward is more comfortable for shooting fast, and can keep their elbow in tighter than with a drop, also balances the marker better in most cases

                        Hi.
I don't usually involve myself in what looks to ba a flame thread, but heck, here is my 2 cents

I am 32 and SHORT (5'6") with matching arms. I tried to be ubber fashionable and run a rail. I didn't like the tank in my arm pit just so I could fire. A moderate drop moved the tank forward enough to be ballanced and, dare to say oh so coumfy.

By the way, I play back and have a big tank. Do what you need to do.

                          1. this thread is not about "what feels good to you" or "there is no absolute best..."

                          2. this thread is about "why don't tourney guns have a drop?"

If you dwell on 1. then this thread will be hijacked into another flame war about rail vs. drop

We already stated why they don't have drops, because people are realizing that to the common people, rails/anti-drops are more comfortable to them.

I started reading this thread but my eyes glazed over before I finished...

Use what feels right for you and piss on the guys who think you are nuts. That has, and always will be my philosophy.

For me, my choice remains the mighty duckbill!

Beemer, it is called running and shooting. I can shoot my maximum bps while running full speed shooting across the feel to knock out 3 other guys. If you practice it you will get good at it.
