Actually uh, It isn't 'Bad guy' grips. Theyre CONTRACT KILLER GRIPS.

The guy on the grips looks exactly like the Main Character in Hitman, and the main character in Hitman ALSO happens to a....contract killer.

I can't see how you have ANY argument whatsoever, because on that token, you're the moron, not us.

Does anyone remember the "Level 10 Inside" stickers AGD put out for awhile? It was a copy of the Intel logo that said "Intel Inside."

Whether an AOer or some other person in the paintball community "tattled" to Intel is unknown, but they caught wind of it and contacted AGD. AGD stopped making the stickers, told everyone on the forum to please discontinue usage of the sticker and that was that. Nobody really cried about that one. Granted it was just a sticker, the logo was a trademark of Intel Corporation and they had full authority to contact AGD and request the usage of their logo to stop immediately.

If IOI or whatever the company is that makes the Hitman game has the image of the hitman trademarked, then they have full authority to go after this Hybrid company. Since it's just an image on a box and not a logo they use in marketing their products "per se," I don't think IOI has much ground to stand on and this will all blow over.

With that said, those are extremely lame grips.

Black, you have a point on the stickers, but with those there was at least some argument as to it being a parody rather than a direct copy intended to make a profit.

Well, you have a point there... however AGD did sell those stickers and while they weren't exactly creating profit to keep AGD in business they were sold just like these grips. At this point we're arguing the extent of the matter and that usually never holds up in court.

ok, so here goes my first post in a while

First i think what slarty did was lame.
its not really his job to go around doing that, kind of reminds me of that random kid that would go tell my mom i had had a cookie before dinner.
Hybrid is a small company, believe it or not, im sure they knew what they where doing but i assure you they arent out making a HUGE profit out of it...While IOI probably mad a killing of the hitman game. i would not feel bad if Hybrid got a letter from IOI telling them to stop, kind of like what happend to AGD and the intel stickers (oh yeah .. i had one of those stickers they rock, but you better believe AGD knew their was a likelyness to the sickers with Intel). But for you to of your way to do this seems like you have an agenda against the people who bought those grips because they are the "Gansta" crowd. would you have done this to our Beloved Tom and AGD ? or are you doing it because you feel like getting some attention and making some PBNers mad.

Honestly the elitist attitude taken by some on this board really brings me down.

oh please dont tell me you arent looking for attention, because if you wherent you wouldnt have made a post about it.

hurm, maybe someone needs to send out e-mails about their scareface knock off's next; i always woundered how they could afford the licenssing fees for an image like Tony from scareface; now i know....they don't

Cheaters and scum bags suck, if you steal from someone knowingly you should be punished; finally a company in PB that deserves its C&D

so this justifies copyright infringement? The fact that Hybrid didnt make a HUGE profit? k wait, you are not their marketing and sales analyst, so you wouldnt have a clue as to how much they made.

But upon further inspection, that silohoutte may not be as a plausable copyright infringement case as many origionally thought. It is, overall just an outline. As a grapghic designer and those with a keen eye could tell you they are from a particular source. But, based on the original Hitman: Code 47 box cover, it appears the grips have undergone an extensive alteration. The image on the grips have been distorted vertically, somewhat.

if slart didnt rat AGD, some sanctimounius AGG kid would of. Hell it could of been mickey nouse. Its all conjecture at this point. What this topic brings into a whole is the whole notion of "why do people be stealing isht"

Like i said you dont know what they make, what their profit to eaning ratio is. What you know of the relatively small company, is purely conjecture.

Since everyone else has tossed in their pair of copper coins, here's my take: Hybrid, along with any company that uses ideas not their own without permission, deserves whatever the owner of said idea wants to bring forth. With regards to the Intel thing and AGD, that could have been far worse, but Intel obviously didn't care to make a big deal of it. IOI might. The Bruce Lee estate and the owners of the rights to Scarface might also take issue with Bunker King. Frankly, I haven't seen anything come out of Hybrid that was REALLY innovative... just other people's ideas with a slight adjustment for personal preferences.

EDIT - My bad, it was gone for a moment, now it's back. Odd......

You want pb companies to be communist? Where everybody can use anybodies logos, ideas etcetera? Because that is what all you pro Hybrid people are saying. Hybrid should try to come up with a differen't pic for thier contract killer grips, not steal someone elses artwork.

Ah this was redeeming. I'm rather glad that a dishonest company is being held accountable for their practice's. I'm also very pleased to note that most of AO handled this very well (with the exception of one or two people) compared to PBN. Good job SBF and AO!
