AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
Either way, it's not quality or time that's the issue; it's the constant misquoting of how long it will take.
Hard to misquote when you're not usually even given a quote.
Btw: We're *FAST* approaching a 1 year mark for a 6 week run- Thats 8x longer than expected- I do hope the time spent waiting will be directly proportionate to the quality of the build.
MSRP so far for Machine time , design , prototyping and materials for this body with mating parts made from 7075 material with a +/- .001 tolerance across the board for 135 body sets would be in the $525.00-$540.00 range . So , your getting a custom limited edition body for half price that will last forever . I hope that enough quality for ya .
We started a 500 part run this morning on the lathe and the body blanks are right behind them .
They should go on that machine on the 10th or 11th .
A new Fadal milling center will be delivered on the 10th and the first job on that machine will be the revised breaches and the front blocks will be right behind them .
These bodies will be off my machines and out of my hair by the end of the month , one way or another .
I had made all the breaches and front blocks but they are now sitting in the scrap pile because of a design change made during prototyping . I knew better than to make them but i was trying to hurry along the project .
A small change RRF made to the internal dimensions of the gun body during prototyping forced me to move an outside dim instantly scrapping the breaches and another change i made to the front of the body scrapped the front blocks as well.
Im sorry it has taken so long but we simply had to much work to do in a short time frame under contract for the size of shop we have , hence the new machine comming online and it will be a God send come June 1st when the contract starts all over again .
2 shifts a day , 6-7 days a week for 8 months straight has twisted my brain a little :/
I will post up pictures when the parts start comming off the machines and holy shiot , its 2 am again

Though I don't have a dog in this fight, I hope it all turns out alright Zoom.... I know what it can mean to have it all figured out and then one change starts the dominoes falling...
At least now the guys know that there was a failure of sorts that is setting it all back.

This is the kind of update we have been begging for! Thank you very much for an explanation of the project and whats been going on.- For the first time I know now that my gun has done more than sit as barstock in a back room for the last year.
Please let us know when they make it onto the new machine.

any chance of a guy getting a tour of the shop ?? lets say about the time these parts hit the Mill , sure would be neat to see it happen , i'm only about 2 hours away , I'd buy your lunch , if that would help
Since this seem to get back on track, I'd like to stir up some trouble...
Any chance PTP will give us a matching Micromag Valve for our, hopefully soon to arrive, 2k9's?
Preferably an all aluminum (Micromag X-Valve)?
If you would make em, you could put me down for two.
Come on guys, who would like one for theirs too?
Sure they will! Should be ready by 2028 but if you pay now, you'll get a free hat.
Now, seriously, Tracy already said this body will be the last Micro project they are going to handle. If you want a custom valve to go with it, I'd sugest getting a X valve and asking some laser company to customize it for you accordingly. Easiest, cheapest and surelly fastest way to go, for sure.

That was before they got the new machine though.
I may be a hopeless romantic, but i haven't given up on a new Micrococker either...
Giving us an official "Micromag X-Valve" would be a nice way to make up for all the delays.
I dont think Tom would allow someone else to make valves. There was a thread earler this year about a 3 party making new classic valves and Tom turned down the request.
