I think the thing that struck me the most was the scale. These bodies are tiny feeling. All the pictures have been large pictures with the body taking up most of the frame. I had lost my sense of scale.

Most of the little details that drive people nuts (gaps n such), really, really, don't look nearly so bad/obvious in person. Even running the breach in warp mode looks far better in person than it did in pictures. I'm happy.

I can't wait for these to ship.

While I was there Zoom had some batches of bodies and parts running through the stones for de-burring. I got the impression that raw Mech bodies would be going to Tracey soon.

Also saw a few more E-Micro front blocks come off the machine while I was there. They seemed to be running ok.

Will post sketchy cell phone pictures later.

    PS:

    Hey Luke

I saw the box of spare bodies for you to play with. Looks like you should be able to get some good ideas in.
Seeing as how the launch is postponed until Thurs, you should have plenty of time to post those pics.

Are you able to hang out there until Thur to see the launch?

I'm good through Saturday I think. Here's hoping it goes before then.

I believe you have mentioned this before, why are the parts moving around? I can't imagine you guys using cheap vices with the high-end stuff you do, just curious what you came up with...

        7075 issues?

Are you using a forming tap or is 7075 to hard for those?
7075 material is compressing into the 6061 vice jaws that are sitting in 1600psi Kurt Vices .

The 6061 is actually compressing under the force .

The #2 vice moved again after VF-xx left .

If it moves again i will have to remake the fixture jaws out of steel .

Roll taps dont want to start into the material and just compress the tap holder instead of threading so im using special OSG high helix taps .

VX , good meeting you and im glad you got a chance to stop by the shop and fondle things :P

Looking at the pictures again, I think they ended up being a bit lame. I wasn't focused on pictures, I was focused on the product.

Holy crap... I guess that 7075 is freakishly strong. I wonder how this will hold up to a re-ano process.

Who are you calling a whore? That's why I sent my frames in to be matched

Unless I decide to have some milling done, I'll have to get re-ano'd, but I don't think there's anyone out there yet with ideas on what they can do with these yet.

Front blocks are done and ready for the tumbler .

Monday the gloss black and grey units will go to the polisher and the satin black will get blasted .

The raw units shipped out yesterday to Maine so the raw guys will see theirs first , satin black guys will be 2nd .
