AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
It seems that there is at least a .005" variance in the OD of the valve bodies over the past 15 years of samples that we have (not sure of the specifics). Forest tried "old" micromag and classic valves that were .005" larger than an e-micro valve serial number 00034 which was probably from 2000 or 2001 as well as a proto-type 68 micromag retro valve and these 2 fit fine, as well as an old automag valve that was on the larger side but fit snugly in the new body.
By chance what was the serial # range of the valves you guys tested? My classic valve isn't even close to fitting.

I ended up talking to someone from PTP today about it, and they suggested PMing LK-13. My reg was also VERY snug, though I have it in and assembled now. Only problem is removing the assembly now. Anyone get any ideas, post them up.

Ok, in a nut shell...
To Install an Over Sized Valve:
-brace the body against something solid with a cloth or pad of some type in place to keep from damaging the finish
-using a rubber/soft faced/dead blow mallet/hammer pound the valve into the body, it's stainless steel it can take it and smile **BE SURE TO GIDE THE VALVE IN CORRECTLY ALIGNED; YOU WONT BE ABLE TO TURN IT ONCE IT'S IN THERE.
To Remove an Over Sized or Stuck Valve:
-brace the lower tail end of the body against something solid using a cloth or pad to keep from damaging your finish
-using a wooden dowel close to but smaller that the diameter of your bolt eg. A 2B DRUM STICK insert the stick in to the body via the breach till your against the bolt face
-using a rubber/soft face/dead blow hammer/mallet pound the valve back out of the body;
it's stainless steel in solid contact with the body so it's more than strong enough to take it with zero damage. that's one of the good things about how OVER BUILT Tom Kaye made the AGD Valve assembly.
Even if you try, it's very tough to kill!
The old classic vavle I have didn't fit also. I chucked it up in my drill press and lightly sanded the the valve. Now it fits great. If you have a drill press it is pretty easy.
