I show you a study that shows the crime rate is dropping. You tell me that it is poor data. I give you good data( and i believe the FBI compiled it the way you requested too), now you complain about the time period of the data. That the last 10 years is some "past point" that has nothing to do with "right now". (or specifically 2002)
So the last 10 years is too far in the past to be relevant for you.
Ok so Ill give it to you....the crime rate for the first 6 months of 2002, according to the FBIs preliminary data, is dropping or rising depending on the violent crime...
Now you ask what are we doing differently? Lets see what are we doing differently... We had harsh penalties to criminals during the 90's (republican congress) and we have harsh penalties now (republican congress and president). But also in the 90's we had a really good economy. Right now, we *dont* have a good economy.
*gasp*!! What?? You mean those harsh penalties and incarceration isnt solely responsible for crime reduction???
Maybe having a good economy and not giving criminals a reason to be criminals, might help...
Sorry gotta give that one to Collegeboy. Understanding and solving the problems that create terrorists/criminals, does more to prevent terrorism/crime, than trying to destroy/incarcerate them.
Hey dont get me wrong im all for more jails and killing terrorists....but its only a part of the overall solution.
