Now, take this concept to the extreme... Say a certain race robbed you, and it's commonly known (according to insurance companies anyhow) that this race is known for robbing. In this case, you would blame all of that certain race.

How is your prejudice any less wrong?

I'm not referring to any exact race here, it's merely an example.
    Not a very good example.

Wrong to judge based on that one incident? I'm sorry Rifleman, but it's not just one incident. Sam just happened to be in the manifestation of bad driving from inexperienced drivers.

Thousands of teens are killed every year due to motor vehicle accidents, the #1 cause being driver error. (Insurance Institue for Highway Safety)

Now, your example of Racist-Robbing, Yes, that would be grounds for blaming all those of that race. If there's data backing the fact that people of that race are known for robbing there *WILL* Be a prejudice and it *WILL* be justified.

Teens and younger drivers STATISTICALLY get into more accidents than any one else. They are risk-takers. It's a fact.

Now if you're blaming Sam for using his brain and weighing in the fact that teens are riskier drivers than others, then I will say that you are an idiot.

I'm a firm believer that the driving age should be upped to at *LEAST* 18.

Yes, I wrote a 15 page research paper on Teen/Young drivers.

Sam, you have my condolances concerning your condition and the condition of your car. That was a really sweet ride, and I hope you can get it back to the condition it was in.

Oh, but there is; but I still don't pre-judge based on those facts.

Oh yes you do. Every bit of information you have in your brain influences your first impressions of someone no matter what you would like to believe. To say otherwise is just ignorant.

Do you look at a black man the same way you look at an asian or caucasian? I think not.

Or what about a man or woman with glasses? Glasses can make someone look more/less intelligent, more/less dorky/geeky, etc.. depending on how he wears them or the style of his frames.

Like I said, everyone has preconceptions, even if it's just the slightest bit.

Yahoo! I can chime in on cars! I know very little about cars, but my dad owned a Grand Marquis. It was a Mercury, not a Lincoln.

I hope you don't get shafted Sam. Notice how shartley puts more concern into his car's health over his own? Gotta love that mentality.

I don't believe that Sam ever said ALL young drivers but when something happens we all find ourselves generalizing.

No, the pictures that are seen do not show the damage actually done to the car. You cannot see all the gouges in the paint and all the scratches and bumps. So, though I understand saying "no damage that i see.. all that i see is where someone drove thru the bushes" you simply cannot see from the pictures what is actually there.

Hopefully, the insurance company will call today and we can start getting the car back into shape.

Secondly, take your car to the most reputable/expensive shop you can. I'm not sure what NH state law says, but I know here in Utah you don't have to submit several estimates to the liable insurance company. You simply take it to whichever shop you prefer and have them pick up the tab. Also, if you play your cards right, you'll be able to have the liable insurance company pay for a rental car while your's is in the shop.

                WOW

                Hey Sam,
I am glad to hear that you are all right. That really bites. I hope that the insurance company deals fairly with you. Which one is it? Some of them will now guarantee the repair work for the life of your car. That may add a little piece of mind to this poor situation.

BTW did the youth get a ticket?

Well you need to find out! How else are you going to file that multi-billion dollar Law$uit? After all didn't this effect your ability to design and create your SHartley Customs Line?

And think of Kim, she should be suing for "Loss of Companionship" since you were hurt so bad that you are uhm...unable to fullfill your husbandly duties!

I am thinking that with your monster settlement you could invest a portion in AGD and become Tom's partner!

Had a young driver total my parked car in front of my house a while back. Poor kid was really freaked out but thankfully was okay (when his dad showed up I could tell he didn't know whether to hug him in relief that he was okay or punch him in anger )

Dealing with insurance companies sucks. It is stress that people just don't need in their life. At the same time, however, you have your health and I'm hoping that your loved ones have theirs as well. Cars can be replaced with money and there are other things in life that can't. So you are still way ahead!!!
