    Freshman Bob,
Were we having this conversation 70 years ago, I would have been the minority you were talking about (Italian). We were "all" of the bootleggers and killers in Chicago. 20 years before that, we would have been talking about the Irish. 20 years from now, we may be talking about Latinos or Asians. This is kind of America's pattern. Downtrodden move in, build community, build political muscle, move to the suburbs and the next group enters.

    Heat,
Threatening that guy must really have impressed your girlfriend right? I can threaten a 12 year old noob on the field and scare him out of the sport or I can give him a thrill and once during the day let him shoot someone toting a real high end marker and feel great about himself. I was in my share of fights in school and college, but now I have way to much to lose. What if he had gotten out and you pummeled him. You could have been arrested and sued. Would your satisfaction at beating up a smaller guy made it worthwhile?

All of your actions have consequences! Unfortunately most people don't think of that when they commit their crimes. A little over a month ago, a piece of trash robbed the bank branch in the office I worked in. He then robbed 3 other banks. This morning, he was on the cover of the Gloucester County Times (NJ) with a few police officers standing on him. This waste of humanity is going to spend the next 25 years+ of his life in a federal prison with no chance of parole for a few thousand dollars. Do you think he thought his actions through? Crime is caused by a minority of people, the minoties that don't think about the consequences their actions bring. BTW, he was white.
hehe my bro was in the car and the kid was like 25 he wasn't skinny either hehe why you gettting all worked up what would you have done? smiled at him? fliped him off?

      Heat-meister,

I think he's just saying that sometimes its better to blow things off, than to let people get to you. If he instigated it, then you gotta defend yourself, but starting crap with someone because you have friends with you, you are bigger, etc, is lame. I'm not saying that's what happened in your case, it doesn't really sound like it. But on the other hand, you are being awful defensive when anyone mentions it.

I'm embarassed to say it, but I did something similar a few weeks ago, but it was after a tough hockey game, and with a member of my own team. I took it way too far, and really messed up a relationship. I still don't think the other guy was right, but I realize now that it just wasn't worth it. But, damn, I know how you feel, its tough to let some dork act tough w/o schooling him.

Anyway, I've got a hot date, so you guys be good. Don't get this thread locked by being rude or anything!

      Peace out,

      Jim

I might be a little defensive, but I'm laughing my butt off out these comments. The whole reason I scare the kid was to have some fun. I was laughing so hard afterwards. Kinda like now. Everyone always knows better, I just finally got sick of taking crap from everyone and I've started to hand out.

eh...i really agree with shartley but sometimes whether you realize it or not you can get a little condescending. not that it was unwarranted, cuz it did kinda go downhill after "What if's are for women, real men DO and accept the consequenses."

i know where you're coming from here, but i think you should just take others' perspectives into play before acting. kinda idealistic but i can always hope i guess .

and on a side note, i don't think beating his *** would have taught him to not cuss at people. if anything, it'd prolly increase his anger towards the world and make him more prone to do it.

"oh ya, wasn't the bomber of oklahoma city white? yup. when was the last time you heard of a black person bombing somewhere? i guess we should racially profile whites as bombers, since he's the only one to domestically bomb us."

So was the unibomber. If a domestic bomb is detected, my suspicion would go to a pissed off white man. If someone kills a black kid wearing colors its probably a black guy. If someone steals a plane and intends to wreck it into something, its most likely a Arab man. Racial profiling is justified, its just a matter of statistics.

actually if ya want to be really accurate it went downhill after "It only shows immaturity and foolishness." What I realize is that he though he was all that and after almost bashing into our car he though he needed to emphasize that not only was he cool for having a retarded looking cigarette hanging out of his mouth but he was also cool for being able to cuss at me. Course he didn't realize that if he wanted to be REALLY cool. He would NOT have a cigartte, feel sorry for almost bashing into our car and he would cuss in a forein language if all else failed. I HIGHLY doubt he will be cussing at anyone in the near future. And if he does end up pulling a gun on someone else it's not my problem. He was my problem when he cussed at me. I choise not to cuss back, I choise not to flip him off, I choise not to pull the daisy .45 replica out from the back seat ( cause I knew one was back there..... somewhere :) ) I choise to have a little fun and get him to wish he wouldn't have done that. So I did what I set out to do. Beyond that I don't care it's not my problem.

Anyhow, the reason I shared this story is to show that sometimes you just need to stand up for yourself. If this kid wants to beat him up then show up and if that don't scare him then make sure he knows that your uncle Officer John is sitting in a squad car around the corner.

But hey, you've never done anything to teach someone a lesson either have you? Cut someone off in traffic? Tailgated someone? Delibratly park in their favorite parking place at work? Told someone off because you don't approve of what they are saying?

Anyhow, I had no intension to fight him, but I WAS ready if he got out of his car. Besides, neither of us exited our vehicles, I'm sure you all caught that.

Who in here has cussed out or fliped of someone while driving? Will you do it again?

IN case no ones figured it out by now. I WAS that little kid everyone used to pick on in HS.

By your own definitiong not a man eh shart, couldn't leave it be? There's no excuse here. I did make him pee his pants, tough him a lesson, stood up for myself and I have no regrets. And 10$ says if we meet again he'll avoid me rather then cuss me out. I did what I though to be right in the situation and I stand by my choise. I didn't do anything wrong, accomplished what I set out to do.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it a president that said "Speak softly but carry a big stick". You sure talk alot shart. No ones calling you a bad guy, you're actually quite nice, but by your own definition "not a man", that's all.

fighting... arguing... same differance. There was no physical altercation there were some thinks verbaly expressed, just like we are doing now. It's the same thing. If I'm not a man, by your definition, for not letting the kid off the hook then you aren't either for pursuing this "argument".

No ones taking anything out of context, but there is some re-phrasing going on.

I'm starting to get bored with this argument. so it's time to end it.

shart I beat you at your own game... again I might add. You are starting to get very detailed about your stuff to get me to slip up. I don't care what way you put it you and me and me and him are the same thing. If you were here right now I'd let you know as much, cause I wanna punch your lights out? NO, but because cause I'm expressing dominance over you ( the big stick remember ). You see same thing. You had the choise, to step out of the car risk it all, or drive away. You choise to step out of the car. Same thing, see?

Now, I know you won't admit to anything as usual. Probably resort to accusations and hechling( as if there haven't been any of that so far ) but I beat you at your own game... again I might add .

Remember that part with the "zinger"? that was check. This was check mate.
