philip - i didn't see your warning til after doing all that support of my argument. notice i didn't name call, but merely backed up previously stated "opinions." if i can't even defend myself when i'm maturely told that i'm "full of crap," and that i pull my facts "out of my butt," then what's the point of allowing this thread to start to begin with? i dunno why deadeye started making this personal and immature, but i certainly shouldn't be disallowed my defense because of it.

Folks: liberal or conservative, we're all (ok, MOST, not all) Americans here (if not American, then good chance you're Canadian-> American light , j/k). Saddam was a threat to us all, and I'm 100% certain that we're all mighty glad Saddam is caught.

Now, let's all go out and sling some paint while feeling a little bit easier about what exists outside our paintball world.

get a grip guys, it's war. people get killed in war, we know it sucks. i seriously doubt our troops just randomly target civilians and kill them. not to mention when you're fighting a war where the civilians can and sometimes will be the enemy, you gotta stay on your toes.

-Impostal22- Why again did they have the sanctions to start with? If we would have went and made them follow the sanctions a few years ago like we did a year ago many of those deaths would have been avoided!

Yea I like CB quote I looked it up and posted in the original link. I wonder where he has been? very quiet on all of this
I think there for, I am I think. am I?

"Liberal garbage? So i guess progressive thought is completely useless?"

Progressive thought is a matter of opinion. An opinion you happen to be completely wrong about.

Very simple. You can have the opinion that the Earth is flat, and your opinion will be wrong... therefore, with this single counter-example it is shown that opinions in general can be wrong.

                        Impostal22,
Not one of your sources is independent. The UN report is hyperbole!

Why were the children dieing? Was it for lack of money? I think not. How many millions have been uncovered since the take over. How many billions did Saddam earn under oil for food?

No, those people are all victims of Saddam, not the US, UN or sanctions!!!!!!

Look at Ethiopia. How many thousands starved to death because of LOCAL CORRUPTION stealing or selling foreign aid????? The blame must be laid at the feet of the guilty. Not everywhere else!!

As for the Chemical Weapons, theory only. No proof. If they find it, then the guilty in this country should be prosecuted for war crimes, but it won't happen.

Why did we aid Saddam in the 80's? The enemy of my enemy is my friend. That is why we helped the Afghanis with the Russians. Pretty simple, eh?

LOL! I just read my first conspiracy theory. I knew it would not take too long! Now get this it all has to do with things KNOWN before today but miraculously disclosed today and attributed to Israeli intellegence. Now note they just want to draw a different "conclusion" is all. Not that it would realy matter would it? Not really...

                            Here it is:

How convenient! Oh boy.... its just begun. "Lets spin it another way so we can be right!".

No good deed goes unpunished! Learn it kid, cause it is one of the sad truths of life.

                                CPhillip,
I see a big hole in that theory. If he were a prisonor, why would he have been armed. He had a pistol and was in the hole alone. I don't know about you, but when I take a hostage, I usually don't let them have a gun!

Also, Amnesty International is now calling for Saddam to be given POW status and visits from the Red Cross! I say screw it. Let's just turn him over to the Iraqis and let them take care of him! I am sure they can find space for him in one of the mass graves his butchers dug!
