Bush is a very powerful and graceful speaker if you ask me... He comes across very well and connects with the people on a personal level (my take on in).

        Good job Mr. Bush!!

OH I wasn't the only one worried he might make some gaffaw? Yea good plan. Short and sweet. I almost felt all along he should have just released a statement or something. But he knows that Al Jezera needs some footage to show. Assuming they show it. Nothing new really but I didn't expect anything.

No seriously though CBS lost the feed there for a mintue and switched to a veiw of a football stadium! LOL...

Cphil, I was on CBS too, that pissed me off, I had to do a quick flip over to ABC or NBC or whatever channel was right below CBS....

I think Bush kinda has a funny look to him when he talks sometimes, but he's a smart guy with morals that I can relate with.

Hmm... your about the only one would say that. I never found his public speaking skills all that good. I do however see an honesty normal guy in his lack thereof. So it doesn't even detract from my impression of him. Others make light of it as if to be a good leader you must be polished and a great orator. But to me that always comes across rather fake and makes me distrust wether they are really people inside. I like to see the little slips and misses. Makes me feel a bit more close to someone who is not perfect. I can identify with them better. Its real and honest. However imperfect.

There was another bombing in Baghdad at the Palestine Hotel just a couple of minutes ago. I think that the capture may entail a large backlash as the insurgents and members of the Baath party are still out there.

Ok, since we've started talking about what to do with Saddam, this is my gut feeling.

We're going to spend the next few weeks with him in captivity at an undisclosed location during which time we're going to give him some options. Option 1) cooperate, tell us what we want to know (especially WMD) and we'll send you to the Hague, where they'll keep you in a nice prison with TV, a comfy couch, and a brand new N-Gage. Or, option 2) be difficult, give us grief and we'll send you back to Iraq to let them put you on trial and you can live in one of their prisons, where life will probably not be comfortable.

It is my belief he'll take option one. The fact that he didn't kill himself or fight to the death as most people thought he would demostrates that he prefers life to death and comfort to discomfort. I think he'll cooperate and give up the goods.

Which makes life for Syria kind of difficult right now. Since it is widely believed that Syria now has Iraqi WMD in their possession this puts them in a bind (if that's true). If I were Syria I would right now contact the state department and tell them "now that they have Saddam we no longer fear his reprisal and we would like to turn over the WMD we have been holding for him. We would have done it sooner but we were living in fear" That would be a tissue of lies, but since we'd get what we want we'd probably let them get away with it.
Or better yet, why don't you kill yourself. No, really, die. Drop dead, don't leave a note, in fact burn your house while your little ego is stuck in a bench vice so that you'll also incenerate yourslef and everything you own with it. Because that's all you're worth. You're not even wirh thte time it'll take for the house to burn down, so just kill yourself. You're a waste of space. You are nothing, you always will be nothing. Don't leave a note, you're not worth the ink. - Tyger

It probably will for a little while, but I doubt for very long. I think these are just the last desperate attempts at vengeance before they all either give up or try to run away.

                                We'll see though.
