EDIT: Maybe Shartley has someting with them "not being persecuted." Perhaps WE are the ones that are persecuted. Forced online so we can actually win an argument (at least have a fighting chance....)

i would also like to make note that I have never seen a an overwight kid, skinny kid, acne problematic kid or ugly kid discriminated on a national level. to try and compare that to this, is just stupid. for christs sakes.. all of them were allowed to march in parades and such.. the group they represented.. it was called cubscouts/boyscouts

how so. at times blacks were not permitted to do something. at times gays were not permitted to do something. right now, they are not permitted to do something. they are indeed fighting to get this changed. when blacks wanted their freedom, did they go to a courtroom and say, "your honor, we would like our freedom.. if you could just take care of that before lunch, that would be great.. " didn't quite happen like that. last I recall, there was a civil war. now, I am not saying that there will be a civil war as a result of this. not by a far cry. and to try and say it is offensive to compare the problem with gays today, to the problms of blacks in the past.. is rediculous. you think blacks were the first to be discriminated agaisnt?

I want it to read for my own benefit.. and no, the link that newt provided was to a chart stating statistics of who had more aids/hiv up through december 2002. the chart did not say, "gay man a" was responsible for the spread of aids. here is your direct quote (taken from context)

now, I want to see a report of this. the link that newt provided did not say that gay people had caused this. I want to see what YOU READ to come here and POST THAT.

I will point out that I HAVE. When you look at all the kids beaten up on a regular basis, or discriminated against on the playground, it IS on a national level. This just goes to show that people will only see what they want to see.

I would also like to see reports from school saying that a kid was beatup on a playground for something other than his lunchmoney. I have never once heard of a child abused or beaten within a school system for being fat, ugly, skinny, having acne, having a purple hat, velcro shoes.. whatever other excuse for abuse you want to find. im sort of a "show me" kinda guy, so, show me the reports. Did I mention that I like to read things too?

right. I understand that what they are fighting for right now is not a right. they are fighting to make it a right. but, to go back to the blacks again. they didn't just stand around and wait for things to change. they were very limited on their rights as well. they fought to change that.

Want to know who really needs protection in this country? White Middleclass Males with Families. But I suppose I will now be called a racist as well.

Here is my problem with your post. Gays are not being segregated. They can eat, drink, and go where they like. This can't compare for that reason. Right now Gays are trying to create a right for themselves that has never existed!!!!!

If some public place of accomidation tried to keep them out of their facility, I would be right next to you on the picket line, but this is simply not the case here.

well you can interpret many written things however you want. i dont think that mr. jefferson meant that once you are born you are no longer equal, but if you feel that way fine. the real world reality is not perfect, but imho that does not mean we should accept that. some people dont think moses parted the red sea either.
