The Passion of Christ, A Review

*echos polorboy's sentiments verbatim*
The only difference was, I was not proud to be a "Christian" walking out of the theater. My initial thought was, "I am in fact...a pathetic excuse of a Christian."
Here is how it has initially affected me folks: I apologize for the brash, even arrogant attitude I have had in the past when it comes to matters of my faith, and even politics.
A) My God doesn't need defending against finite humans.
B) I'm only called to testify to what He did...not to defend him against critics.
C) I cannot expect the world to understand my faith, or even accept it unless the Holy Spirit has already been working on their heart and mind.
D) As such, I need to show the love and forgiveness towards those that mock me for my beliefs. As Jesus said, "Remember when they hate you, that they hated me first. No servant is greater than his Master."
I apologize for my behavior folks. I have not been a faithful witness of the God that I claim to serve. He is so much more...His love for us is so much more...and all we have to do is put our faith in Him.
That is what I took away from this movie. I took away more, but I cannot put those things into words at this moment. -

I know both sides don't like to admit it, but Catholics are Christians. :) It annoys the hell out of me when Christians pretend Catholics are some other wonky religion.Originally posted by polorboy
For the whole entire world for that matter, that includes the agnostics, Buddhists, Taoists, Atheists, Catholics, and especially the Jews.

You're wrong, sorry. Christianity, by definition, means the followers of Christ. Any religion that acknowledges Jesus Christ as the son of God and follows his teachings is Christian. Christianity is the over-all religion, Catholics, Methodists, Lutherans, Anglicans, etc, are all sects of Christianity, so to speak.

I also was deeply moved by the movie. For as crowded as the theater was, it was the quietest crowd I have ever seen at a theater. It left me not functioning, we sat there still until the end of the credits and the lights came on. It took me a while before I could even give a review on it. I strongly recommend the people go see it.- There's no replacement for displacement.

Agreed Thordic.
Catholics are the foundation of the current christian faith. All christian religions have taken some part of Catholocism with them when they broke away from the Catholic Church. And yes, by definition anyone who follows Jesus Christ and believes he died for their sins is Christian. But lets not get a Catholic vs Christian debate here.
Back on Topic, i intend to see the movie hopefully this weekend and will give a review then.Comment

I wasn't trying to start an arguement, nor argue which is better. I was raised Catholic, but I'm agnostic, so it doesn't really matter to me. I was just trying to correct a mistake, just like if someone had spelled a word wrong :)
I too plan to see this movie this weekend. My friend saw it and said it was amazing. She's a BAC, though, so I kinda expected her to like it. My review will be from the viewpoint of an agnostic, not a believer, but I still expect the movie to be excellent.

If I can't be a Christian, you can't be either. You're just a Protestant to me then.
