    "Satan and his babY:"

My interpretation of that (I thought it was kind of odd as well) was this: Jesus felt as if God the Father had abandoned him, since it was the Father's will for Christ to go through what he did. So, as Satan walked by, he was holding HIS son (Satan's son), as if mocking Christ...saying, "I take CARE of MY son." Not scriptural...but interesting.

"Satan after Jesus died: I kinda missed this part, I was whispering to my girlfriend. But was Satan screaming or yelling or what right after Jesus cried? What do you all think about this and what did it mean?"

What this meant was Satan realizing by Christ's death (His sacrifice), death and sin were now defeated. The penalty of sin is death. However, the sacrifice made to pay for all sin has to be perfect (Scripturally.) Only Jesus was/is perfect, and so by His death, sin was paid for, and death (spiritual death...seperation between God and man) was defeated. THose who place their trust in Jesus as their Savior...Their Sacrifice for sin are saved from the penalty of eternal spiritual death (seperation) from God.

"BTW why did Mel want his hands to be the one hammering the nails?"

An intensely personal thing. Mel realizes that it's his sin that put Jesus on the cross, and nailed his hands. It's also my sin. And your sin. It was a symbolic thing for him to do. It shows that it was NOT the Jews that nailed him to the cross. It wasn't even the Romans. It was each one of us that did that...each time we turn our back on God and sin.

    Incredible...

First off I want to thank you guys for you great reviews that you gave and also to thank you for finally getting this back on track. Thanks a bunch. I hope to hear a lot more comments about the movie from everyone who has seen it.

One theory that a lot of people at my church (including my pastor) and me have is the the baby represents the birth of the Anti-Christ. What do you guys think?

        Thread Res.
Just got through watching the movie, and from an agnostic view, it was amazing. It was everything i hoped it would've been. Gibson did an amazing portrayal of the torment Jesus endured. While being ex catholic i knew the story but never imagined it could be carried out with such...passion and conviction as Gibson did. The scene where they whipped Jesus almost to death had me grinding my teeth with each strike of the whip. Just an amazing movie, i would highly recommend to anyone, christian or not.
