It looks like most people have already posted most of my thoughts.

If you want to "take the scenario world by storm", you need to compete with the current king of the hill, Tippmann. So that needs to be your starting price point.

It looks like the X-valve is a major obstacle, due to the high price and intolerance for CO2. And for the masses of recballers, do they really require a 26 bps recharge rate? Probably not. Also the ULT is overkill, especially considering the learning curve necessary.

I'm not sure how the VF-Tatical cocker is selling, but I have yet to see one around here. I'm not sure there IS a good market for high-end scenario markers.

I say if AGD wants to mass market this thing, keep the intelliframe, level 10, and custom body for looks, while keeping the price competitive with the A5 and 98. And if you want to appeal to the true scenario junkie, package it with nightvision

          Good luck Tom!

No need for an Xvalve or RT, just a Classic is fine.

              $300, w/ classic valve

              $375, w/ Xvalve

$500, max that I'd personally pay.

As far as some of the other comments,it doesn't matter how many people actually play speedball, most rec ballers "think" speedball is an upper level and factor that in when looking for "a tourny level gun", as though there is such a thing.

                I agree...

that giving people the opportunity to upgrade from a more "barebones" marker to an all out high end scenario marker is a good idea. People like choices although that can mean more work on AGDs part, which they may not have that kind of time. You might think about having pictures of different styles of markers similar to what Tippmann does in their ads with the 98 an A-5, and making some ads in magazines would be very beneficial. The scenario autococker, to many recballers up here in the Northwest, is too overpriced, too fragile, and has too few choices to even touch Tippmanns in this field. Plus Tippmann has excellent customer support and for us rec players that is a major consideration in purchasing a marker. Thats why I went with AGD they have very good customer support, and their markers are built tough plus easy to fix.

And ditch the ULT, you want to keep that reputation AWAY. Most people will not learn the kit and then walk around saying "mags sux"

I'd say 350 on the low end to 500 on the high end.

I haven't really read page 2 or 3, I just thought of this while I was eating dinner. When you think about it, right now spyder and tippmann are at the top with entry level markers. Spyder will always remain at the top of this category due to the pricing. But AGD can take over tippmans spot or compete pretty well with them. But a few changes to the marker have to be made.

                        1) Ditch the X-Valve and go for a classic valve. Because C02 is a big thing in rec ball, its cheap, tanks are cheap, and a lot of places still don't fill HPA.

                        2) Ditch the ULT. Personally I have not used one, but from others on the board, it may not be to newb friendly.

                        3) You may or may not want to lose the LX. A lot of the people who would be in the market for this would be upset when they have to "tune" the LX.

                        4) Or, if you are ordering right from AGD's store, you could have the choice of adding on the above 3 to the Tac One. Although this may not be a very good choice.

What it comes down to: You guys are in a tough spot. On one hand you can make the marker compete in price with tippmans, but you will have the old "ball choppin" mag. It will be heavier, and you won't be able to shoot as fast. This could be good or bad.

On the other hand, you include the LX and X-Valve, and you wont chop balls, but it will require some tuning that may have some owners dissapointed in their choice of marker.

Theres a few ways to go, all have their good points and bad points. It's up to you.
Soon to own an E-Mag, the funds are close.

                          This is for goatboy:

Just took out my november APG magazine to check out the numbers for D-DAY(and to ccheck out the dual sydarm TK pic, thats so cool). 3,137 players playing during the day. Over 2000 players playing the night game. That's 2000 players who have a reason to buy a gun that can fit night vision. Not including the average of 5 scenarios every weekend, with lowest turnouts from 100-200, and almost all of them playing night games. This is no anti-tourney backlash, this is the majority of paintball coming into the spotlight.

For 360 I'd put one in my bag, for 500 I could still see you selling them.

Coming from the aspect of someone who will actually be SELLING these markers, (as well as possibly buying one) I take into consideration what other products i have to offer my customers. As was stated numerous times before, the biggest competition to the tac one will be the tippman m98custom, the A-5, and the WGP scenario marker.

A price point slightly above the a-5 is the best bet. The price still says "hey, im a better gun" without saying "this is too expensive to consider". With a price of about 300- 400 dollars, i am confident that i could sell many tac one's. With a price of 700ish, i may be able to (realisticaly) sell one or two of these guns in a year.

We all know that the tac one has some of the best performing parts from AGD today. Many people have posted that they expect a price point to match what all of these upgrades may have cost in the past. This is what many people would expect. . . and i gaurantee that it will NOT be a hot seller if the gun costs around 6 to 700. For that money, people will buy an impulse, a bko and upgrade it, or some other electronic marker. Sure, SOME people will pay 700 for a a mech marker, but most will NOT.

In order to 'take the market by storm' as tom put it, the price for the tac one must be be below $500.

So anyway, here's my "offical" response:

                              Great deal price: $350
Max price I would pay (or most others for that matter): $500

Hope this helps. If the price is low enough, im sure i can sell several of these guns during this christmas season.

                              Carl

Scenario guys don't care if thier gun can lay out 26 BPS. When I last played a 24 hour scenario at Skirmish, I bought one case of RPScherer and played 17 hours and left the fields with 1000 rounds leftover. In scenario elims mean nothing unless it's a mission to eliminate a general.
My point is, slap a classic valve on there, no ULT, maybe the level 10, and whamo! KING OF SCENARIOS!
