Doobie has arrived safely in Kuwait yesterday after a long drive through Iraq!! He is now just a few weeks away from a flight home!!

The 101st Airborne Division has been arriving here bit by bit! It has been awesome to see these soldiers home again reunited with their families! There are now more cars on the street, and Clarksville, TN doesn't seem like such a ghost town anymore. Welcome back guys!!!! And congrats on a job well done!!

I hope the time goes by quick for you and Doobie, Trina. I will say that the trans atlantic flight back from Kuwait for me was nothing short of pure hell. I was sandwiched between two guys that were pretty big.

But, when the plane landed in the states... beer NEVER tasted so good... it was even a Yuengling to boot.

Hey all! Yup...we made it to Kuwait. The next day we went to the wash rack to clean our trucks. We spent 38 hours straight on the wash rack, then had a 12 hour break and hit it again for 12 hours! The men kicked serious booty and we are all done with that as of today!
Now we just clean our personal gear and wait for a flight!
I can't wait to go home and I want to thatnk everyone for all of their support!

I got CQ right now, so I get to play on the battalion computer for 24 hours!

I want all of AO to know, that Trina is an Angel in disguise.

My wife, despite being a Navy brat, did not take my going to war very well. I contacted Trina, after she offered to help in anyway, and asked if she could Email my wife and tell her side of the deployment woes. Doobs girl did better than that. Trina did Email, got Chris' phone number, and called her for a long talk. Chrissy is now SO much better about all this, and is now able to handle me not being there. I called her a few days ago, and she told me that Trina had called and that their conversation really helped calm her nerves.

                    God Bless you sweet Trina.

The Army/military family is a great thing, but the AO family is a truly outstanding thing.

God speed SGT Dubois, and thank you for a job well done.

**Blushing** Thanks Dave (Army) for such sweet words. I really didn't expect that. I think it is hard for most to understand what us military wives go through and sometimes it's hard to find a shoulder to lean on.

Try not to worry about your family, they will do just fine...just remember to worry about yourself, because, all in all, THAT is what will get you home safe to them. Lots of love to ya and Godspeed!

And BTW, I agree, our AO crew here is amazing!! I have to say, no one realized how much this really meant to me, but when I had three calls on Christmas day to wish me a Merry Christmas when I was all alone...it meant the world to me. I luv you guys!!

Look what you've done Dave...you got me sounding all emotional...

I'm lost on how invading a country is protecting our freedom. I have nothing but respect for the people in the armed forces, but I sometimes question what our leaders are doing.

Think about it. Should we wait until those people that have threatened our lives and country actually DO kill us, like Klinton did? Or should we strike those beligerents first, denying them the ability to wage war or terror against us or anyone again?

We've wiped the infrastructure of Al Queda from Afghanistan, and freed an enslaved Iraq, who's leadership has killed millions by torture, shooting, and poison gasses. Those include babies, children, women, old men and women, dogs goats horses donkeys and camels, to boot. Why did they die? They didn't hold the same belief that the leaders did.

Klinton failed to protect us, and 3000+ people died in New York for it, not to mention throwing the US economy into a terrible tailspin that we are only now getting out of.

We failed to stop Germany and Japan 60 years ago too, resulting in millions of deaths by the hands of despots and madmen. WWI was also a case of ingnoring the trouble until it was too late. Vietnam was another case, but we failed to allow the military to end it. Granada, Panama, Desert Storm, Lebanon, and now Iraqi Freedom learne dthe leassons from Vietnam, and were and are being fought with but one goal in mind...stop the bad people from killing again.

You deal with a bully not by asking him nicely to stop what he is doing, but bash him to the ground.

I'm the guy who gets to do the bashing.

Times sure seemed more happy 4 years ago... I dont think its all Bush's fault, but this country doesnt have the same smile it had at one point. The reason when we went into Iraq wasnt to "free" the iraqy people. It was for the Weapons of Mass Distruction. When people were interviewed over there after we invaded, they were pissed at us for doing so. I dont know where you get your information, but Iraq is a much worse place to live in now. They dont have freedom now, we control them. By your first sentence Army, it sounds like we should just go ahead and rule the world, then nobody could fight back. I am not saying terrorism is good, but i dont think we should just go attacking everyone we dont share beliefs with. I dont know who is right, the media seems to just tell us what they want us to hear. Seeing the live interviews of people in Iraq, and knowing that it wasnt such a hard place to live as we've been informed(before we invaded), i really get mad at the media for a sort of false advertising. Nobody wants terrorism, but nobody wants a bully either.

I think you found the wrong thread to post in...

Where were you during 9-11? Almost everyone I talk to knew someone who lost their life that day...even after all the crap I've been through this past year worrying about my own husband...I can easily justify this war if it helps destroy terrorism and prevent 9-11 from happening again...

Have you actually BEEN in Iraq and seen how much we've changed the peoples lives? Yeah the media tells us what we want to hear...THE BAD STUFF. No one ever sees all the good stuff.

I suggest you keep your political views out of this thread because this is about soldiers and their struggle to protect YOUR freedom.
