Yeah, if it was kept in mech or hybrid mode. A locking screw could be devised to keep emags and xmags on mech/hybrid mode during play, and unable to be adjusted on field.

Why not take the battery off? Or, make a foregrip that attaches the same way as battery pack.

just get an x-valved RT pro if you're going to do that, it's the same thing if you take out the e-element.

Couldn't agrre more. But you left out Palmers Pursuit from that list.:)

I really like the idea of prizes supporting the winners travel to the next level. I'd rather participate in an event where more teams got their registration back as a prize and a free pass to the next event for the top team(s)to defend their title.

Seems to me too much of the sponsorship money from the event level is going to far too few of the participants.

ahh, that would be great. I usually only play in "localized" tournaments here in MN. We don't get many jerk faced idiots around here. Even when we do, most don't know how to shoot their electros so I do fine with my mech cocker. Not too mention with my eclipse hinge frame, I can just about keep up with them... But yeah, there needs to be some sort of national or regional tournament sanction that is mech only. I know for a fact it would draw lots of people. Not too mention, mech play is very fun. It's semi-auto, but not so intimidating that you can run at someone with an angel, who hasn't moved the entire game, and is slinging paint from his starting bunker....

I'm rambling... go mech play, w00t.

Man, If a mech-only tourney/division started up I would love to do it. Even if it meant selling my shocker. In many ways this would be great because you don't have to pay $1000's of bucks for a gun and you wouldn't use nearly as much paint. I think this would be great for people who use lower-end guns lke Kingman and Tippmann to make a comback in the sport.

Ya more skill would be involved Jesse. If you look at pump guns it takes a lot more skill especially if you are going up against mech and/or electro. When you compare a mech to a electro more skill is also involved with the mech.
Look at it this way when you take away your high rate of fire that you have with mech and especialy electro. What do you have left? You are forced to rely more on your own skills(i.e. running, angles, snap shooting) than the high ROF of your gun.
Now as far as mech going the way of pump.... it probably won't ever be as popular as the electros are, but it will still always be around just like pumps.

Definately gotta agree with you there. Mechs will always be around. There never will be a day where no more mechs exist, and only electros exist. It isn't possible.

I'd definately(sp?) play and so would several teams from my area. I agree that having a mec only tournamet would make it alot easier to catch cheeters though you still couldn't stop them completely.

Not to bash anyone directly, just a thought. Those of you who are saying get rid of the electros and I will have the fastest marker are really missing the point of this conversation. The same thing could be accomplished by limiting the rate of fire. As for one trigger pull one shot... the best way to accomplish this is for someone to make a "trigger" pull machine, that has dozens of different types of trigger pulls. Put this next to the chrono - gun gets set in it - does five or six random style trigger pulls (perfectly with no forward travel). One of the problems with the RT system is people now look for RTs when they have simply stated an issue to be careful of (not to say people have not found ways to enhance it). Other mech guns have this same issue. Refs may accidentally allow there trigger to move forward when testing and see a problem that really isn't.

The idea was brought up earlier in this thread though. Skip mech only, lets have a single gun tournament. Equipment supplied by the tournament promotor, everyone using the same barrel, same paint, same loader, same marker. This brings it down to skill... I don't care about the personal preference thing, everyone with identical equipment leaves just the players to be responsible for the outcome of their team.
