I personally dont think mad skillz will be highlighted when it is mechanical only. It will probably just be a step back into the woods in a sense. Sure airball and concept fields will still be around, as will gun cheaters. If anyone remembers pre-99 balling people were out there cheating with their guns, thumbing the cocking rod, carrying allen wrenches, cranking regs, turning bolts, et cetera. So to answer your question no it will not increase skill, people will play the same only with different guns. People will still cheat, they may have to go back to the old school to do it but it will still happen. Mech only tourneys would be great I would participate, but cheaters are always gonna be around nothing to change that. so if the cheater aspect is what you are trying to nip get over it. If you ust want a different taste of the sport then that would definately be the way to go.
P.S. Pump doesn't equal more skill. I play pump electro and mech. I am about mediocre at all of them. But by your words then I should automatically have mad skillz cause I have a pump gun in my hand. The only thing I do better with a pump is find cover so I can reload.
