True but I don't think the nxl will have too much of an impact on highschool paintball.

I'm the only kid in my entire school that plays paintball. Some kids ask me about a spyder once in a blue moon, but all they really want it for is shooting people in the streets...

          my club now team

[new member, saw this thread and had to reply] i go to a private very catholic guys school in michigan. when i was a freshman i was realy getting into tourny pb and was determined to start a club of some sort. the first thing i had to do was find a teacher who wouldn't be ticked off for us saying he was our moderator; i think we ended up telling him we might get a marker for him for x-mass or something like that. after we got the dean to approve our announcement we took the liberty of placing a signup sheet in the lunchroom and told everyone who was interested to fill it out.
they didn't even put us in the yearbook that year but at the end of the year we won 2nd in the state highschool finals the school board had to vote before they would display the trophy. four years later we r now a team and got the school to pay for our jerseys, and entry to a couple tournys, but now theres a new director and it looks like the team might evaporate after most of the team and i graduate this year
If the school is acting like its just a game and wont do it, try to find a field that holds high school games. If there aren't any that do high school in your state, try to talk to a field that does college tourneys cuz they will be more likely to extend to high school.

yeah but like you said you are in a private catholic school with money to throw around, public schools are more unlikely to put down any sort of cash for something as contraversial and expensive as paintball, not trying to be a cynical person but its the truth

yea, i think that the fact its private made it easier for us to get them to buy us the jerseys, but the other schools we play aginst for the championships r mostly public. i;m not sure what their relationships r with the schools tho. i assume its more like "we'll tolerate u but we rnt paying for u "

Sucks. I used to play with my music tech teacher. He had 2 or 3 angels. But my school would never support a paintball club because of liability and insurance reasons.

If a club ever does get started at my school it would be cool if a store or company supported or sponsored us because my school is cheap.

The problem is that most people don't know much about paintball and what they do know is all the negatives about it so they aren't as willing to be involved in paintball as they would be and are in baseball and football.
