Alright Mike here's two simple questions that no doubt Hammerhead has checked into in there "years of extensive expert testing" sorry couldn't say it with a straight face either.

What is the rifling twist ratio in a Hammerhead barrel?

What is the bore size of the barrel where it is rifled?

Where do you think the info TK wrote about came from? He didn't do all that research and testing on his own. Zupe is not a Johnny Come Lately who just swooped in, bought AGD and put himself in charge. He's been an integral part of the company for years, hands on in the middle of testing and development. Just because he hasn't been a forum addict doesn't mean he's changing the direction of the company.

You might try asking Dave some questions about the types of research they've done that would apply to the discussion - more specific questions of course can tend to get more specific answers. Then of course there are always fun stories about spinning test projectiles so much they hooked upward and punched holes in the ceiling.

Maybe I was rash. But the lack of good tech discussion since TK is gone is apparent.

Dave, you've been VERY low-key to invisible.

So, how about some stories? How about some enlightend discussion in this thread?

Will we get answers? Doubt it.

Mike is your standard blockade type debater/Internet troll. Dodging and ignoring all pertinent or difficult questions and ignoring all points made against his argument while crowing about the few inconsistencies or minor concessions that an opponent might make.

Just enough to keep us talking and avoid having to make any effort himself.

          Pathetic.

Only two things you need to know about Dave. He plays guitar and builds/launches model rockets...and I don't mean the little Estes.

Yeah, I know, someone wanted specifics so I made some up.

Mike - The other two questions aren't "flights of fancy" and the third is an example of the effects of having an object moving along a curved path which it is no longer forced to follow.

The answer to the second question is both bullets will strike the ground at the same time.

The Answer to the third question is the ball will travel in a straight line from the point of release from the circular path which is parallel to the line defined by the center of the ball's rotational axis and the 3 O'Clock position directly to the right. This is why a paintball is forced onto the upper side of the barrel in the curved portion of the Flatline it will remain rolling along the upper surface.

All three of these questions are basic and can be found in any General physics book.

If a bullet it held at the same height as another bullet in the chamber of a gun and there's a trap door that'll open the momment the gun is fired, and the gun barrel's axis is level, under ideal conditions, which bullet will strike the ground first?
                      Here's another one, alright...

The bullet exiting the barrel of the gun will hit the ground in the berm first at any target range near any population center.

What's that? You forgot to include another pertinent parameter?

Is that a ditch behind me?

Nope. You added to the scenario. No mention of impact area, so one must conclude there isn't one. Due to gravity, bullets will hit the ground at same time.

Much like Hammerhead's claims....no research shown, so one must conclude it's all made up. The only thing that spins in a Hammerhead barrel, is your perverted version of physics.

I see you have never been to a rifle range.

Wrong. The parameters of the question were not property set. Remember, these were supposed to be "scientific" questions. Based on the vagueness of the monkey and bullet questions, both of my answers are correct.

Your a - I try to avoid telling anyone that on these boards because I beleive in useful discussion, but in this case its true and it destroys any ability to have a reasonable discussion with you.

                              My two questions

What is the rifling of a Hammerhead barrel? The estimate was above, 1:40 - meaning a 20 inch barrel will give the ball a half rotation if the rifling is effective.

What is the boar of the Hammehead barrel? Seems how its not mentioned by the one familar with the "years of expert research" I'm going to take a guess and guess its close to .70.

How in the world does anyone think that, with those parameters (or even close) that the rifling is going to make any difference?
