Its a sad day here. I used my E Tac last weekend at the SPPL and it worked great. I took it out to clean her up the other day and all was good.

I took her out today to put the new 1.7 code in and when i hooked her up it wouldnt program so I check and pulled the pin to se eif it came on.

No lights so I figured that for some reason my battery was dead. I charged the battery and then put it back on and it still would work. :-(

I check for voltage and I had plenty at the board and I also checked the ground and it was good as well.

I installed my other board and turned it on and it worked fine. This board actually had 4.0.1 on it so I hooked her up and tried to save my the old hex and it still will not communicate.

I have tried everything I know but I cant get it to program :-(

No more XMOD for me. I think Im gonna cry

        Beta Success!

Well after procrastinating a month I got my programmer, got here in about a week.. Everything went all good with saving old software and flashing in 1.7 software on 4 different boards. The directions were perfect and everthing worked as promised. The gun I used today out on the field was my trusty ULE E-Mag.. It has about 200,000 balls through it, though it has gone through changes, the solenoid, board, and valve ramain from the orginal E-Mag I bought in 2001.
750-800 psi input, PSP mode and FULL modes tested. Cheapest $28 a case paint .682 bore
No problems, shot the whole case and broke a ball or 2 when the Halo was almost empty and was ripping a string. I was able to shoot people out easier from my back bunker when they were moving then ever before. Sure, I could have bought a timmy or a DM or shocker but I love my mag and this Xmod is everything I dreamed of.
After I was done playing for the day I took my last hopper and 2 pods and set the gun to full auto 15bps...I started shooting a target and filled both pods without letting off and had no breaks or chops, just a nice 420 ball rope

Pros: fast shipping, easy setup, well layed out directions, keeps the stock look and feel, user interface simple and easy to navigate (no silly fashing light patterns), fully adjustable dwell, debounce, ROF and tournament modes, takes 3 minutes to change back to old software.

Cons: voids any warrantee (i think), expensive programming harness, PSP mode doesn't take full advantage of the PSP rules. In PSP mode, the ROF must stay at 4bps or higher to maintain ramping on the XMOD. PSP rules say that you can maintain a ROF of 1bps to maintain ramping. Easy to close up grip without remembering to plug back in the HES harness.

Yeah, but you only make that mistake once.

I know I did once when Tom was flashing boards to 3.2 for a big game. Grumbled a bit when I figured out what was going on, switched to manual and had a great game.

Got my emag flashed to 1.7 this weekend. Have only played a big, but it's sick how big of a grin 18bps FA brings to my face.

            Finally got my programmer.

Perfect instructions, loaded in about 5 minutes completely. Sad thing is Ive had this marker since 2001 been running 1.37 since then and now its the bomb in about 5 minutes Thanks Lorne I know it really took months of work in the background I really appreciate it.

Loaded up my ULE emag first.
I aired up my marker last night have a 850psi into the marker, but only had about 2000psi left in the bottle.

            MOD: SEMI
            ROF: 17
            ACE: OFF
            FIX: 0
            DWEL: 13

I didnt notice any bounce in E mode or hybrid so I left the fix on 0.
When I put the marker on PR-T mode I got to see how slow I really am, I managed to hit a 14 bps on the display.
I didn't get to test for very long, but it really sounds awesome.

I gotta run some paint through this baby Im getting the shakes thinking about it.
Thanks Lorne if your ever in South Africa your welcome to use all my gear You rock!

Next mission is to get my Xmag anodized and back together.
I will test this software properly over the weekend and report back.

outta interest sake have AGD actually contacted you or asked to test your software? Im sure Tom would be impressed even if he does not believe in Ramping.

Got to the field yesterday and got to shoot a few balls through my emag with the Xmod loaded.

It didn't seem very fast to me, flipped the settings over to burst and noticed when I put it on 5 shot burst it would only shoot 3 and hen I put it on 7 it would only shoot 5.
I took the grip off to make sure that the solinoid was activating properly with the amount of burst required. Burst works perfect without air, but with air it skips a couple.

Yep you guessed it, when I pulled my sear out to measure, the loctite was non existant and it did not even have a nut on it. Must have been one of the first designs.
I had a spare slapped it in, sounds good, so I will try again tomorrow.

The burst setting is a good way to test if the marker is cycling properly and if the solinoid is actually activating 3 times on a 3 shot burst. try that with and without air. Once I swapped my sear the burst works sounds perfect.

Ive seen on some guns that are either new or recently serviced by AGD that there is some sort of black 'locknut' inbetween the plunger and sear clevis. My brother's Xmag has it, and so did HOMELANDEFENDERS. I think this could be a big help. Im going to give AGD a buzz to see if I can get my hands on a few of them.

                    First real-world use

I put 1.7 on my 3 month old Emag, stepped through the manual and discovered that the solenoid was wired backwards (how does this happen?) I switched the leads and it passed the compass test.

I did some dry firing in burst mode and found it worked very well unless th etank was getting low, then it would stick in the middle of a six round burst.

Later I filled the tank up and went into the backyard for some wet-firing. It ripped some nice bursts and all the modes worked well. I wasn't pushing it hard, I just wanted to get some nice streams going.

                    Mode: Burst 6rnds
                    ROF: 15
                    FIX: 37
                    DWELL: 19

I took it out for a day in the woods and it worked flawlessly in SEMI mode.

Halfway through the day I decided to show off the burst mode. It shot a few bursts fine, then I heard it stutter as if the level10 were engaging, then it broke a ball right nicely in the breach. I actually blame the paint as at least partially to blame, it was deformed and breaking in a lot of other folks markers that day.

After cleaning the marker I went back to semi and had no problems the rest of the day.

During the course of the day, the marker took some goop into the trigger frame, so when I got it home I broke it completely down, removed the board and wiped it out.

After putting it back together I noticed 2 things:

                    1) I don't have an ACE, ACE mode is off, yet in TRG test mode the ACE light seems to blink randomly some times.

                    2) Not related the XMOD, but my power tube has a large number of 1/4" scratches in it on one side that it didn't have before the outing. They aren't deep, but are noticable. Should I be concerned about these?

I just sent my lowers in to be flashed to 3.2 a few months ago. I just opened it up now to have a look, and you are right there's definately something there. Interesting.

                        MOD: SEMI
                        ROF: 17

                        FIX: 0
                        DWEL: 13

These were my original settings. Im using a ULE emag with a standard Halo B.

I upped the dwell to 15 and the ROF down to 15. My Emag obviously has no ACE so I have not really tried going my higher than 15bps.
                        Shoots like a dream!
In Semi mode this marker is perfect, I only managed to chop a ball on MILLENIUM mode after shooting an entire hopper last ball chopped.

I think the level 10 struggles a bit at a high ROF but it was only when I ran out of paint, all in all shoots great. If I test the level 10 with just putting a ball between the breach/bolt it will not chop it, so Im pretty sure my marker is set right.

I did pick up a couple times in practice mode if you shoot with the solinoid off, every now and then it throws some garbage on the screen where it should say the ROF. In the Practice mode I had the screen go blank on me once and when I reset the battery the settings were set back to default. But at least I did not have to flash the marker again.

Thanks Lorne, As soon as I get my Xmag back from Anodizing I will chuck the test results up. Cant wait to try this stuff with an ACE.

I was finally able to get out and try 1.7. Havn't been playing much lately unfortunatly.

                          Setup: X-Mag, Halo V35 Setting 5
                          MOD: Semi, PSP
                          ROF: 20, 17
                          ACD: On
                          Delay: 2
                          FIX: 23
                          Dwell: 15
                          Psi input: 850-900 4500 Flatline

I started out in semiand had no problems at all. I havn't been able to hit the max rate fo fire yet (must learn to shoot more paint!) but I have been able to get nice streams of paint that I was never able to get with 3.2.

About halfway through I decided to switch over to PSP and set the max to 17. All I can say is . As far as I could tell I wasn't skipping/missing any balls and even with old paint I didn't have any problems though with lvl 10 and ACE on I better not!

All in all the software performed great and has really made using my Xmag with the infestation of ego's around here much more enjoyable. So yet again hat's off to you Lorn

Installed 1.7 3 weeks ago played 2 days in that time. No problems so fare.

Setup: E-Mag; 12v, Warp feed, Viewloader velocity Hopper
                            MOD: Semi

                            Psi input: 850

I put about 2 hopper through the gun at at 20+ bps full auto with no problems
and about 2 cases at 16 bps with no problems relating to the software or electronic. I did have to replace the power tub o-ring. I didn't have a problem until i tried to shoot faster than 23 bps then it sounded like the lvl 10 was engaging and it chopped some paint but i don't need to shoot that fast anyway.

hi guy's played in my first tourney yesterday(took fourth, daughter's team was second by 5 pts.) any way my mag ripped no broken paint execpt one at barrel joint it was loose settings were

                              mode semi
                              rof 20

                              ace off(duh)

absoultly no complaints about xmod great software makes the mag run real well, but i'm hav'in some real issuses with my level 10 and would like to know if any body else has had this problem? my problem is that i get about 1500-2000 shots out of a new oring in the power tube before it starts to leak and yes i know just go one carrier down but my other problem is that my starting carrier is one line so only get one maybe two chances with one oring and those damn things are getting expensive. my question is is the one or two carrier option common and should i get more than 2000 balls before a leak? jim

This is nothing new to the Emag cause I have read it on this forum before.
Last night I removed my trigger magnets, then placed a oring in the groove for the magnets (I found an old discoloured automag oring that fitted perfectly) then I placed one magnet back.
I always used my Emag with just one magnet for the trigger, with the oring underneath it Im hitting 15-16bps in semi now. And the trigger feels sweet!
Try it, Im impressed! My emag runs and feels like an Ego trigger now ,Just with the emag I can actually hit stuff
