Nothing wrong with having ambitions CB. I know virtually nothing about the internal world of politics. I did have to give my "expert opinion" for a couple days to the state but it became apparent to me right away that I was a side show to the real internal politics that were going on. My part was to be a thin veneer over what was really involved in the decision making process. It was almost like the barter system between the two parties. You don't screw with my special program that effects the people that donated money to me and I won't screw with your special programs. In the end, however, it is still the best system in the world because it does have checks and balances.

So what is my point of the story above? Obviously the game of politics is one of compromise something that you do not appear to do well. Also note that the politicians must not be incendiary. They must talk out of both sides of their *** well (except for Jesse Ventura). Finally in the end they have to be popular (believe it or not you have to have people vote you in office). Like I said there is nothing wrong with ambition but you have alot to learn and alot of hard work before you get there.

Also it is customary to wait until you achieve things those sorts of things before you start demanding deferential treatment from us poor unwashed masses.

One last observation. You fit the mold of liberals/communist thinkers that I first noticed in college. They are for the "people" but in the end are the ultimate elitists and have the attitude that "I will teach these poor uneducated souls exactly what they truly want." You may want to reflect on that.

But the funny thing is I am neither a Liberal or a communist. Most communist believe that the idea of communism can be reached, but they fail to realize that the only way it can be reached is if you take 100 newly born kids stick them on an island in the middle of no where. Hope that no outside influence will influence them. But then you still run into the idea, is the want to succeed a basic human want, or is it taught in society, the basic nature versus nurture debate. If it can even be reached then is up in the air.

I know the guys you are talking about, and believe me, I am no where near them.

You will really actually find my political ideas probably similar to many of the others on this thread. I am just liberal enough to make me like .25 beyond center to the left of both the economic and the government scale.

As to Shartley's post apart what we do in college coming back to hamper us. I have no idea why what I do in college would come back and hamper me. I don't do drugs, I rarely if ever drink, the two most popular biting in the tail things. So what other stuff is this. Asking people to research something and to learn about it before they make judgments about it?

The difference is I am not spouting communist ideas. I know it doesn't work and will never work. So it seems I would already be in the position of your father.

As to my post here being like the liberal/communist people's ideas. You will have to show me what you take from my post, for what I write them for is no where near what it seems you take from them.

The world will not be an enlightened utopia, for that would be very dangerous. But as time goes, people get more liberal, better understanding happens and etc... 20 years ago we new hardly anything about communism other then USSR was supposedly communist, and China. No one could say anything different. Now we have people actually telling the truth that they were not communist, and people are starting to accept that. By the time I run for office, my "liberal" ideas will probably be considered just right of center. (But I will NEVER run on the republican ticket)
