Just Watched the Democratic Presidential Debate

Actually that was a pretty funny article! I've seen onesided arguments against Bush but never anything so vicious. She is definetely biased and not above twisting the truth and perspective to the extreme (Baghdad was also full of innocents by the way) but I will admit she has some style.

Albinonewt - you seem to spend some time perusing this website. I believe that this has led you to skewed opinions. She is eager to discuss how no one has name recognition against GW Bush. Keep sticking your head in the sand. This is no sure win for the Republicans. It is almost like if they keep telling themselves that it will be true. Personally, I think they have another thing coming. Coulter better keep sharpening her tongue because she is going to need it.

For her, however, it doesn't matter who wins. She and Limbaugh will make money no matter what the outcome.

If you haven't seen a vicious attack against Bush then you haven't been paying attention. Any of the Democratic sites (the Democraticunderground for instance) just slam on him to no end, and much worse then Ms. Couter.

She is extremely biased and does employ no small amount of spin. However, when she bothers to do research (she often resorts to saying "can you imagine if he was a ...... for her arguements) it is very well researched and bullet proof (she's not a comedian mind you she's a professional lawyer).

The differences in Bagdad and Kosovo are prnounced. In Kosovo there was a much longer air campaign using more conventional munitions. In Baghdad it was a more limited air war using percision munitions. Innocents died, but in Baghdad great care was taken to avoid it, and the same was not true (or frankly possible given our current stockpiles) in Kosovo.

I spend a lot of time reading a lot of sites, and my opinion is definitly influenced by all of them. My head is clearly not in the sand.

The fact is most people know nothing about Clark at all. Still he's polling well, which means at least some of the democrats and independents that are polling in his favor are just sheep being lead, since they're polling for a guy they don't know the first thing about. I really don't think Clark is going to pick up any momentum. I think he's going to be the Democrat's McClintlock of the year. Good on paper, but just not practical.

For her, however, it doesn't matter who wins. She and Limbaugh will make money no matter what the outcome.

Why would Fox even bother? Liberals hate the network anyway, and they're the ones voting in the Democratic primary, not the people that actually believe what Fox says.

The right is not afraid of Clark, and there's no reason to be. They'll pay attention to whoever wins the Democratic primaries, but until then there is nothing to fear from any of the 10 candidates. One of them has to rise above first.

And Coulter is an idiot. Bosnia was a NATO war.

It was a NATO war. That Clinton got us into and Clark lead. That's like saying the Iraq war wasn't a US war because we had allies. It was most certainly a US war, even though we had several allies in it

I certainly do not feel Coulter is an idiot and niether is Rush. They have found a great way to milk the system and make a comfortable living (well lets face it....beyond comfortable).

And Coulter is very funny. I take everything she says with a grain of salt, but she ususally makes me laugh.

Not her books though. I've read Slander and Treason and liked neither.

I believe that Coulter is an idiot ever since she got on O'Rielly and said that Joe McCarthy was a true hero and a patriot who never found anyone guilty and didn't ruin any lives of anyone that wasn't a communist spy for Russia.

McCarthy did an extremely important thing in America in a time where we faced a very real threat from an enemy who was conspiring against us. It's easy in retrospect to say that he may have gone to far, but he did ferret out Soviet Spies and communists and for that we as a nation should be grateful.

And he did inflict hardships on plenty of people who ended up being less guilty then he previously thought. We as a nation should learn from those lessons as well.

McCarthy was a Senator. You are a college student. He overzealously attacked some, but did ferret out some legitimate targets. You know the old expression about the road to hell being paved with good intentions, well here was a case in point.

Speaking of Rush, boy has he had a bad week.

My thoughts:

I think he was stupid to say what he did. Even if it's true (which I'm not in the know enough to debate) he was dumb to think that he, the symbol of conservatism, could make that remark and not be branded a racist. Bob Byrd or Jesse Jackson can say it, not Rush.

On the drug charges. My suspicion is that it's just a media that hates him taking a pack of lies from the National Inquirer and running with it. It could be true I suppose, in which case that was really stupid of him. But, my guess is that its nonsense. We'll see if they're still talking about it in a few days, that will be a good indication.
