I prefer Dean to Clark, but frankly I prefer Clark to Gephardt or Kerry.

But provided the economy is working I'm confident against any of the Democrats.

Did anyone see the hammering Clark took last night?

The Dems sure have picked someone to hammer on. It doesn't look good for him. Dean is now polling withing the margin of Clark.

Well, I watched the new ebate the other day, and I will say that Clark continues to unimpress. He's fallen in the standings and doesn't know what to say or how to say it. Frankly, although I suspected he wouldn't win the primary, I expected him to be a stronger candidate. He's pulled out of Iowa and looks to be sputtering.

Lieberman has pulled nearer to the top of the pack, trailing by only four points. Of all the candidates Lieberman is my favorite (which garauntees he won't get the nod). He's the least crazy, the least pandering, and has the most integrity of anyone on that stage.

Some of the things they say make me laugh though. When Clark was asked how he would help the economy his answers were so vague that the moderator asked him to be more clear 2 or 3 times! The Rep Kucinich was asked how he would close the trade gap with China and stimulate growth and part of his reponse was to RASIE THE MINIMUM WAGE! Now, no matter what you think about raising the minimum wage (there are proponents and opponents of this) it CANNOT be argued that raising the wages we pay our workers will make them more competitive with cheap labor from China.

All in all, a very funny event. These guys are self destructing.

Oh yeah, and Al Sharpton can speak. That man really can deliver a speech. He'll talk for three minutes, say nothing but things that enrage me, and in the end I'll be happy I heard him talk. Simply Amazing.

Here are the Gallup Poll Standings

Gallup poll standings of the candidate below:

Bush still has a relatively high approval rating of 53% (up from a month ago when his approval rating was only 50%).

Polls show the state of the nation having a rating of only 41%. I think this president is vulnerable. Don't forget the bet that you and 1stdeadeye have with me. You conservatives are horrendous welchers....

              EDIT:

              More poll information of interest

Bush is far from vulnerable, and its just getting worse for the hypocrits, I mean democrats. They are too divided, and too stupid to get their act together. But please, PLEASE, PLEASE, nominate Howard Dean to run. I'd love to see that sanctamonious peice of living human waste broken and crying when he's whipped like Walter Mondale.

The Democrats just don't get it. Their day is done. And I'm loving every momment of it.

The sad thing is Lieberman might stand a chance - and the democrats seem to have handed this nomination to the looney left

Don't worry Aaron, we're still one. But keep a copy of the bet because I already forgot what it is. That way I'll be suprised when you have to pay up!

The important things to remember about Bush's approval and re-electin ratings right now are A) he's polling better then either Reagon or Clinton before their landslide second term wins, and B) he hasn't done anything at all in several months.

What I mean by that is the Democrats have been out campaigning and getting on TV and spreading their message loudly for months now, and they're still behind. This is the part of the race they should be dominating, but their not. Once the Bush campaign machine turns on (lead by the rather brilliant Rove) I suspect you'll see those approval ratings get back into the low 60's and the gap between Bush and his rivals widen.

Let's not forget, GDP grew by 7.2% this quarter. That's an awesome figure. Economists are giving a large part of that credit to the Child Tax Credits that went out (tax cut) and that's going to be key for Bush. If the growth is even remotely sustainable (which 7.2% almost certainly won't be, but I wouldn't be suprised to see a 6% figure come in) then Bush is looking very strong. He'll have a recovery just in time.

I used to really like Lieberman before he teamed up with Gore. Then he seemed to lose a lot of the integrity that I like so much about him. But, he's been slowly returning to the Lieberman of past and I'll say that I really respect the way he's stuck to his guns in the primary despite the fact that it dooms him.

The Democrats need to learn a lesson from the California conservatives. They wanted McClintlock, but knew they couldn't get him. So they chose the ost conservative candidate that could win, instead of digging in with ideology and just sticking their heads in the sand. They didn't get the candidate they wanted, but they also didn't get the candidate they thought would finish their state off. They were pragmatic, and smart, and that's what the Democrats need to do.

They should nominate Lieberman. He's their best candidate (Maybe Gephardt too) to beat Bush. Clark isn't half as strong as I thought he would be and I was lowballing him pretty bad compared to most others. He's dead weight, and I wouldn't run him against Bush if you paid me to.

Actually I thought the Gallup Poll figures favored Bush very heavily. If you read the text most of the "undecided" voters were republican. I didn't post the numbers as propaganda just for information.

As for all your "looney left" comments and "their day is done" keep listening to your conservative talk radio and believing every word of it. See you guys on the east coast and the midwest think you represent America. But I think of you as "old America". "New America" (the west coast) is going to lead this country into an age of enlightenment and reason that has yet to be seen on this earth... (how is that for looney left and borrowing insults from good old Don Rumsfeldt? )

Seriously the Gallup polls favor Bush at the moment but I'm betting there is going to be a surprise come election. I've got two Automags.org barrel condoms on the line in this one baby!!!!!!!

More like the Left Coast, not the West Coast. BTW the south is the fastest growing section of the country, not the left!

New American can't keep the lights on and has their ports closed half the year due to crazy union strikes. Oh, and let's not forget they refuse to keep their trees per acre low enough to prevent massive $5 billion fires that kill people.

Plus, don't go lumping NJ in with the Midwest. This is the Socialist Republic of New Jersey, not some conservative, or even middle of the road, state. Here everyone but Deadeye, Me, and 10 or 12 other people is a die hard liberal.
