    Thank you!

    Tablets:

Ya, that is pretty much how it works.

Wacom provides interactive pen displays, pen tablets, styli and apps to equip and inspire everyone to make the world a more creative place.

    They have two models:

    Graphire2?
    Intuos2

i have an intuos2 12x12 tablet. very cool!

    graphires start at 100
    intuos at 200
both are very high quality and come with a pen for the tablet and a mouse

I can't get the 7th and 8th step. I right click on the channel. I guess I don't really understand what I'm supposed to do when I go back to the layer. The only layer I have is the background like Assasian put. What am I missing?

Don't right-click... "Ctrl"+click instead. That selects all the white values in your channel. Then go back to the layer, and fill the selection with black

I would kill for an Intuos 12x12. How can you afford that?! I think my art department has one on the way; I can't wait.

the tablet is actually my fathers.

He uses it for photoshop, editing photographs taken by him. Since I was 4 I have been exposed to photography, so this was a logical step forward with all of the digital revolutions coming forward in the past 5 years.

The tablet's Return on Invest has made it worthwhile.

Since purchasing the tablet, we have purchased two 2 Graphire3 4x5 at about $75 each for our laptop and second desktop.

I see those brushes are the new sensation sweeping the nation.

I like emm cuz they are easy and make a nice customizable effect.

                        Whew, gotta love that grammar.

In order to define a brush, you need to have pixels to define. (I got stuck on the same thing...) My problem was that I used the pen tool to make the path, but thats it. The path isn't shown as pixels, its a mathematical equation (like vector graphics). In order to use your path as a brush, use the pen tool, then right-click on your path and select "stroke path" and use brush as your option. This will transfer the path to pixels (based on your brush's current parameters), allowing you to define the path as a brush to use later on.

I'm assuming Wacom tablets are like digital sketchpads that you use a pen to draw in photoshop, right? I've never used one, but over the last few days, my disire for one of those has increase tenfold...
Dear god, I didn't relize how bad I am at explaining things till I go back and look at it. Sorry for te horrible tut, better than nothing. At least you gotta work to figure it out. Learn more that way. I really need to go to bed.

Assasn, that background was made in bryce by someone over at n-sane.net. I then took it and played around with it. I adjust the Hue and saturation, along with the color balance. Then, I just used some blending techniques. Sorry, no filters although I do use the blur and some others occassionally.
