Actually some colleges cover up stuff like that they wouldn't want that stuff to sully the name of the university. I know of one death that a certain school in boston doesn't like to have it out that their health center could have prevented. And another one which routinely covers up sexual assaults.

On another note. During my sophmore year a RA ran into my friends room and grabbed his 68 carbine loaded up the hopper and shot it down the hall. So it really depends on the types of RAs you get.

When I was 18 or so sitting in one of the honor dorms I lived in, alchohol free floor just chilling in my room with a bottle of rootbeer in my hand (now it did look like beer bottle) the RA walks by my room, does a double take, then comes back and just closes my door.

Obviously, you don't know a damn thing about the NRA. They won't give damn.

I scarily enough agree with TP on this. You were in violation of a legal civil contract that bound your behavior. If you did not agree with, or could not abide by, the contract you should not have signed it. The NRA wouldn't touch this, you are in clear violation.

// Still think the punishment is ridiculous
/// Still think the system that requires you to sign these contracts for higher education is unfair and wrong.

You're probably technically correct ... however, the "punishment" seems, well, silly. Being forced to watch a movie (it's NOT a documentary) to attempt to twist a students personal viewpoint back over to the "correct" way of thinking smacks of something dark and evil. If the film was made for educational ... or in this case re-educational purposes, then I could understand it. Say, a film made specifically about sexual harassment and specifically for schools, but a commercial entertainment movie?

God damn ... that's just freaking wrong. It makes me genuinely sad for the future. Don't they get it? THIS IS WHY COLUMBINE HAPPENED. Jesus Christ on a pogo stick.

                  WTF?!?

Columbine happened because of gun control or not allowing airsoft on campus? What have you been smoking?

Wow ... ZOOOOOOOOM right over your head.

I'd explain it to you but obviously you can't understand anything deeper than the most simplistic concepts, so I'm not going to bother.

By the way, I don't do drugs, or drink. Ever. Perhaps it's time for you to think about sobering up.

I think he's trying to infer that unfair rules and rediculous treatment of students is what sets them off. I don't know a ton about Columbine, but weren't the guns they possesed completely legal?

*Edit*: Eh, Jaan calm down. He's from Canadia. Cut him a break.

They broke over a dozen laws. If only 2 or 3 of those laws were actually enforced, it would have never happened.

sure, id watch their suggested film... as long as they watch mine, hell its even shorter.

Its a little show on showtime by Penn and Teller, called Bull[translated to POOP for the kids]. They did an episode on gun control and it was very fairly presented.

Well, geez, it's not like you articulated your thoughts or anything.

So before the rednecks start insulting me and making derogative comments about my nationality: You don't know me or my stand on the issue. Personally, I think the general pervasive fear in American society is pathetic. As is the clamouring for vigilante justice. I believe that both Canadian and US gun control rules are bogus. But for different reasons.

In both Canada and the US, sport shooters and other legitimate gun owners suffer from the fools and the morons that are generally put forth as the spokes people for the gun lobby.

Case in point people thinking that the NRA should be involved in fighting to help moronic college students run amok with airsoft guns.

So, Jann, you're in favour of enforcing the rules? Well, how does enforcing these rules as written and agreed to equate to the cause of columbine?

What in your mind caused columbine?

The enforcement of laws is only one small part of the equation. The influence of society and the pervadin attitudes play a huge rule.

Which of the laws broken could have been enforced without the same people in this thread (and myself) complaining about breech of privacy and police state interventionism?
