YES!!!! Engus I just PM'd ya... And yes DEND I agree... what I just suggested to him to draw up actually turns the back valve cradle into a snatch grip.... Since most frames lack that part and you can't just put em on most mags... it'd be a body with it built in... a bit of some milling along the bottom would make it snazzy lookin and lighten it up as well...
Let me know what ya come up with Engus!!!
Another idea and yes I know it's getting into the $$$ goes up with every part... but hey it's an idea.... Since the valve cradle has to be there and it's got the Z lock to it I think it be nice if the back where the cradle is could be forked... like a snake tongue to to have the Z lock in it as well as milled out and shaped into the snatch grip design... A bit more organic look I guess is what I'm liking...
And how hard would it be to shorten up the ASA that bolts on?? The one I have looks like it'd easily come up 1/4 inch if not more... I mean it is a MICRO mag right???

Here is a super crappy but gets the point across piece of art I worked up...

Now if I could get a cad drawing of the bottom of the cradle to show a split from where the grip screw goes into the valve cut and radiused and smoothed out a bit to where there 2 forks came up providing support as well as a snatch grip...

the one just above it is sick. That is your work? Very nice.Originally posted by EngusI dont either, but it was something that devilman wanted to see.Comment

I like this one but with the sight rail like the other versions. Different enough to set it way apart from the other curvy stuff. Simple enough to keep costs down. Dual detents would look good.Originally posted by nmib

Sorry once again for the crappy look... but I think you can follow along... and try to imagine it either split down the middle (hard to mill kinda) or tapered in... hourglass like... body width where the body meets the cradle, then taper in a bit and flare back out where it starts to curve down on the rear. Radiused edges for a smooth feel/look.
Updated the photo a tad...

Maybe add a few scallop cuts with a ball end mill or a series of tear drop shapes at an angle to the back from the bottom up or just tear drops down the bottom edge (rail area) from the front to the back....
Well???

Thanks matt, I was going for a beretta 9mm style body. I like the cad stuff the other guys are coming up with and think some of them look good but i dunno.. seams like we have a bunch of curvy ule stuff already out on the market.Originally posted by matteuszI like this one but with the sight rail like the other versions. Yeah I don't know who said it first but I think the boxy design really should stay. At first I thought something more rounded would look sleeker but now that I have had some time to sit with it and look at the designs I am thinking sharper angles is better. That is part of what sets these apart and I think it will be most cost effective and design worthy to keep it that way.
