so has anyone figured out how to stick a safety in their grip yet.... i have my trigger done and it shoots great... the only issue is that now i have a 1mm or so pull but no way to stop that pull from happening... to this point i'm forced to shut off the air to my marker completely via my slide-check/qdcv.....i cant seem to come up with a mechanical system with tight enough tolerances to hold the trigger.... i am thinking of using a butterfly valve to stem the flow of air tho... any1 have any suggestions that have worked for them?...

Safety the sear, not the trigger.

wait, who did your trigger? you or someone else (DW, PTP, custom shop)? and one thing ive never understood, how can you make a 3-way with a 1mm pull?
and yeah, safetying the sear is a great idea, but you could also try making an on/off and bleed for the hose in the grip frame.

i made it... in my mind you cannot safely safety a mechanical part such as a sear down to a 1mm tolerance...there's always too much slop in the mechanical pieces of a trigger because they have hinges.

about your small 3 way issue... think of it this way.... paintball did not invent high pressure pnuematics..... aside from the technology that powers the "brains" of electro markers the rest of paintball markers could have been made a century ago... most people think "autococker" when they think 3 ways.... i didnt go there for this application...

Don't need to keep 1mm tolerance with the sear blocking safety (and really, 1mm = .039" which is a hellatious tolerance any decent manufacturer should be able to hold 1/3 of that if not 1/6).

Any way you slice it (or actuate it in this case), that sear lever has got to move between 0.1" and 0.125" in the X plane. All you have to do in order to consistently block the firing of the marker is to stop the sear lever from moving more than say 25 or 30 thou (which is totally doable with a cross block safety). Hell, if I was you, I'd just buy an EMag safety and drop that bad boy in there. I know that's sure what I would do. Why redesign something that has already been engineered once?

That's what I think anyway. As always, your mileage may vary.

Think about what you just said, especially since most of the posts are about how cool the trigger is. 41 pages, not 2 or 3 but 41 pages of mostly useless posts. Why not just type the answer instead of telling someone to read 41 pages of posts?

Wait..I forgot, the new AO is about searching for all the info you need and new posts are just useless internet chat.

              Now to answer his question:

I believe what happened was that PTP has been developing a very similar trigger system for a long time and had already gone after a patent. Since DW's version came second, he won't be able to make it without licensing it.

              Hope this helps.

I know, actually im in the robotics club at my school, and I volunteered to head the pneumatics section, since Im interested in that. I did a little research online, and just about everything I found I already knew from paintball. (or rather, hanging out on AO, there are a lot of knowledgeable people here). It just seems like it would be exceedingly hard to design something to release enough gas to actuate a ram, just by being pulled 1mm. Anyway, would you be willing to tell me/AO how you made the trigger? completely understandable if you dont want to, but Id like to know exactly how it was done (what parts, orientation, setup, gas line), and maybe be able to try it myself.

Maybe that's where that other guy's frame ended up.

If that is what happened, it would be well deserved.

That's what I get for having my head up my *** while I've got a tape gun in my hand.

Alooney must feel like a total for pulling that off.

I don't need to tell you how I feel (re ed).

Any way you slice it, it cost me at least a hundred bucks.

Enjoy the frame, but don't think it didn't cost me anything.

I'd send it back to Cool Hand if I was you... You only got it by Accident... Not fair to him...

Hell, I'd pay him to ship it back, but I doubt that will go over too well.

In fact, I can email him a shipping label.

Its just a matter of whether he'd actually send it back or not . . . . .

It sucks, but its my own damned fault. If anyone needs to lay out any cash over this mistake its me.

                                Thanks for offering though.
