You forget, they have to be sent out for Anno. That'll add transport time and the like.

Hey Zoom, what are the spindle RPM ratings on the VMC's your running?
How do you feel about your surface finishes?
Are you running Hurcos or Fadals? (I ask once but forgot)

BTW, these questions don't have anything to do the the bodies you're making, just the machine.

            We have 4 Fadals , 2 have 10k rpm spindles and the other 2 are 7500 .

Surface finish is only reliative per part and most of my stuff is tumbled/blasted and black anodized.

I can however get almost mirrored finishes with a shell mill with wiper inserts .

With endmills at 10k and feed rates in the 50-60ipm range i can get pretty nice finishes but most
of the time im at 10k/65-90ipm and the parts get tumbled and blasted + black anodize .

There should be a couple of crates of "almost mirror finished" breeches done if everything ran out yesterday as scheduled - waiting on confirmation from Russell. Next stop - front blocks...

I'm looking at a Haas VF2 with a 7500 rpm spindle. I'm being advised by some the industry that what I really need is a 10k spindle. (All I plan on cutting on this machine is aluminum.)

Fadals can be had for cheap with a 10k spindle .

I would personaly never buy a Haas machine unless it was brand new .

                      Less talky, more worky...

Zoom, if you are still up for playing, there is a pump/limited semi game at CFP on the last Saturday of every month. I think Hank and G_H are going.

When will the old threaded sear axles be in line to be made?

Yes that question has nothing to do with this thread. But hopefully can be answered.

Sear pins will be made after the asa's get off the lathe for this batch of guns .

I have no idea about old school pins your talking about , unless they are the same .

The Asa's should go on the machines early next week and have a mill op after that .

                              .
From my talks with tracy they are different.

Its the pin that goes to this body VVV

Tracy told me you guys were out of them and more were going to be made.

Since you are the "maker" of everything I was hoping you would know when they will be made...

                                Maybe not...

                                Looks like it anyways.
