    Hey tryme96z

If you are looking for experts on GM vehicles, you should talk to the guys at Motorsport Technologies These guys know GM. They built a 96 Impala SS for me a couple of years ago. The LT1 is gone. Its got a 383 stroker, LT4 intake, Edelbrock headers, custom cam, Borla exhaust, MSD, and LT4 heads. Its pushing a little over 500 horse. Never been to the track though. Level 10 in NJ did the tranny. Could only get a couple thousand miles out of the stock tranny. Anyway those guys are awesome down there. Just talk to Jason or Chris.

I'll take exception to this, race a good driver in a Porsche. Porsches are very nice cars. A bone stock 911 turbo runs a 12.3 (2000 model).

Like Shartley said, most of the time it's not the car, it's the driver.

Imports are interesting but they have no soul.

Nissan 350Z. Competant? Surely. About as intersting as a blender though.

1971 Chevelle LS6. Competant? Not really. About as interesting as a car gets though.

Any car that makes insurance agents howl in outrage gets my vote.

Imports have never made insurance agents howl. Let alone whimper.

Bah! Give me a Jeep and a muddy field and I'm happy. I personally don't like all the fast cars, but to each his own, I suppose.

The Cadillac 16 has 1000 horsepower

I don't think they will actually be making those, but the engine is totally new, they just didn't toss to v-8's together... Then they plan on using that engine to make smaller ones...

So start looking for some 500 horse v-8's... or 250 horse 4 bangers

thats deffinately not true, granted the older ones are way heavier than most cars, my 72 deffinately doesnt need a 504ci motor in it to make it go, that car can MOVE.

This thread is really unfair, especially with the choices given for the poll.

First off when you say imports its sad how the "unknowledgeable" community with cars refers imports as civics and integras. WTF?! way to go TF + TF.

Now personally i will take an import but that depends on which imports your are talking about... if you think about it not only are Japanese cars considered imports.. so are you VWs and Audis... even your Pasta Rockets (ferrari , maserati)

But yah i rather Take a my Supra BPU which is makin around 470 HP to the wheels over a viper because once boost hits... BYE BYE!

It depends though... my favorite Domestic is the 69-70' Boss 429 Mustang.

But dont refer all imports as Rice boy cars. Dont forget abou the good ones.

                              Toyota Supra TT MK IV
                              Nissan 300ZX TT
                              Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4-Turbo
                              Mazda RX-7

                              even some new sweet imports

                              Mitsu Lancer Evo 8
                              Suburu WRX STi
                              Nissan Fairlady (350z)
Mazda RX-8 (personally dislike the piece simply because im a turbo guy, but the aftermarket world will fix that soon)

there are many imports non japanese that are terrific too

                              Volkswagon GTI 1.8T
                              Audi S4

list goes on. But please dont let fast and the furious get to you... or dorky kids on the streets who have honda civics and get cheap rims, disgusting body kits, huge spoilers (because there front wheel drive beast makes enough horsepower to need rear wheel downforce ), stupid Nitrous (i hate it), and there gigantic muffler fart cans make up your mind about imports.

well in his voting option it said civics, integras, etc.

That makes us think jap cars.

Yeah there are some fast jap cars, yeah, there's some fast american cars, german, italian, european, etc.

I like the American cars. I'm not saying I wouldn't wet myself if i had the opportunity to drive a 911 C4S, a lotus esprit, etc.

I however do not like the quality you find in jap cars. I have found that in the majority i have been in/driven, they are made of cheap materials. Same goes for the VWs. I don't like them at all. Some of the parts, from an engineering standpoint, are engeniously cheap. And that's not good in my mind.

                                The problems with american cars:

                                lets begin the list...

                                1. head work. American heads suck. The engines are so damn big, that we can't feed the damn thing enough. You wanna know why a honda 2L engine can make as much as a Ford 4.6L? Flow. Good heads, good cams. Also, that horsepower is made up at high revs. Thats because they can give it the flow to make the torque while spinning fast.

                                2. price. Our labourers are above 12 years old, and support families.

                                3. Defects... too many recalls...

                                4. Too much government restriction.

I could go on and on about why certain cars suck, and why they rock.

I like the American cars though. I like how we were making huge power, that others still have yet to match, back in the 70s.

My truck is louder than yours. A lot louder.
