I doubt many people in this conversation have even remotely driven that fast before. Let alone are able to drive that fast safely! In fact, I'd be surprised if most people would even try, I'm guess most people tap out at about 130. I'm not rolling along next to ANYONE at over 100 until I know they are comfortable and skilled at that speed. Let alone the state of their brakes, tires, etc.

i once went 125 mph in a street race it wasnt a quarter mile because the police came so i just kept going and i hit 125 and that is fast i dont care what you say that is FAST for a non modified car. i was so scared going that fast ill never go that fast again. it was fun till i tried to stop. ohh i forgot to mention i have a convertible and my top was down so it was EVEN more scarey. i dont recomend trying to go fast as you can.

Good post shartley. I used to hit high speeds on open roads, but decided I'd rather not die because of a pothole...

Yeah handling is WAY different at speed. I logged over 70 hours driving at 100+ before I actually felt comfortable driving that fast. Now to go to training for 200

I agree that racing through turns well most likely takes more talent. I just don't like how people bag on drag racing. Even since it's what most people race.

European cars will slaughter domestics on handling. Not one American car made the top 10 handling list for Car and Driver I believe..

Ofcourse anything can be anything if you have the cash
